Making Forum public again.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Ask Jesus : One Thread

I am planning to make the forum public Monday Sep. 20.

Most of you know where to reach me by now in case something bad happens.

Uh, I'll stand back about 500 feet with my eyes shielded, ears covered, and nose pinched. Let's go for it.

Are you sure you want to want to put the "open" sign back up?

I think its good make the forum public again. I enjoy "for the most part," input from new legit posters. Now that we all have the PW we can always go back into hiding if we're attacked.

Hopefully if this becomes necessary again, it can be accomplished before too much damage occurs.

It seems that I'm usually one of the first to see the attacks. It is frustrating seeing the attacks and not being able to counter those assaults. It's like watching a burning house while holding an empty hose.

Has our moderator deleted our pow-wow minutes as suggested by Faith?

I hope he does.

.....it was the *Damaged Threads* thread.

I emailed him about it.

Ed on the Catholic forum talked about a feature with which he could delete many posts at once by using the person's IP address. He was actually able to restore a damaged thread that said "Server Error" because he knew the IP of the person who posted the long article that ruined the thread. So I don't think Elpidio will need to repost everything on threads that get messed up. Why not simply use the IP address mass delete option?

provided it appears, Emily.

save your threads on floppies, cds, or in your files or desktop every night.

We keep copies in Yahoo, but it is always good to save.

I'm still waiting for my internet hardware to be delivered to my "new" place of residence. I didn't know the forum was private until I snuck on at work. I haven't posted recently (still waiting...) but I'd appreciate the password emailed if you go private again. thanks.

That was a hassel. Is David still moderating? I have internet access once again.

-- Luke Juarez (hubertdorm@yahoo.com), September 28, 2004.

David is away at boot camp for about another 2.5 months. Elpidio is the moderator.
