MV F4 Deals Gap Gathering.. an Invitation

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

The biggest BMW K1200RS Rally of the year is at Deals Gap at the end of the month. Why am I telling you, my F4 brothers and sisters? Because many K12'ers also have F4's and a few have said they will be showing up with their “pure” sport bikes to do battle with the Dragon this year. So far we have heard that one Duc, one or two Aprilia's, and possibly 4 F4's will be in attendance including myself. I plan on battling the Dragon Sat on my F4 and then later hang out with the K12'ers Sat night at the Topoco Lodge which would seem like an excellent meeting place for any MV guys. They have a large flat parking lot for assembling the possible 80-100 K12's and any other bikes that may show up.

This is my official invitation to all my MV brethren to show up on Saturday Oct 1st and join us. and BTW.. our gatherings are loose as a $5 hooker.. no official rides.. no vendors, no fees.. we just show up and ride the shit out of our bikes for 3 days...

Ground zero is the Topoco Lodge on Sep 30th - Oct 3rd, 2004. Our group has it booked solid as well as the Microtel in Robbinsville, but there are plenty of rooms nearby if anyone is interested. The Fontana Village on Hwy 28 at http://www.fontanavillage.com usually handles our overflow. I just called and they have plenty of rooms. Contact them at 800-849-2258 or 828-498-2211 or email: info@fontanavillage.com It's the closest motel to the rally at only a few minutes and some world-class curves away.... Also.. you can try the San Ran Motel in Robbinsville at 828.479.3256. It's a mom & pop operation right next door to the Wendys. Clean and bike friendly. There is another motel across the street from the Microtel. The name escapes me... it's old, cheap, but clean.

In case you’ve been living with Osama in a cave and you haven’t heard..., Deal's Gap (a.k.a... the Tail of the Dragon) is arguably the finest motorcycle road in the US. It is located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains at the Tennessee / North Carolina Border, where US 129 intersects NC 28. For a map of the area, The numbers speak for themselves... 318 turns in 11 miles and not a single curve is like the previous. Riding the Dragon is a lot of fun. Riding it fast is a challenge which brings warriors from all over the world to try their skills against it... including me.

If you are coming from up north via the Blue Ridge Pky, be forewarned... Due to Hurricane Francis parts of the parkway are closed so minor detours will be in your future... Road closures are as follows and may be more with the new one on the way: Milepost 317 near Linville Falls to mile 325, from Milepost 344 at NC 80 near Marion to Milepost 355 at Mt. Mitchell State Park, and from Milepost 412 at US 276 south of Mt. Pisgah to Milepost 443 at US 23/74 near Waynesville

If anyone thinks they can attend and needs info of any kind..The scantily clad Amber should be able to provide any info you might need. at 828.628.7093.EST

Would be nice if we could start a tradition... Well.. I’m giving it a meager shot. Make it if you can..

BTW.. As we do at all our rally’s ... we will bestow a FREE Pirates' Lair Hat to anyone who receives a speeding ticket while attending the rally or on the way to the rally....Why? Because we're Pirates!...and in our world.. some bad behavior is rewarded.. Arrrrrrgg
