Before there was a Union Station in Savannah (prior to 1902), was there a Plant Station for the Plant System? If so, where was it? For how long was it around?

Mr. Kearns,

The Plant System Station was on the corner of Liberty and Wheaton Street. Plant Sysytem, and later ACL, operated a large stub end terminal with yards and shops at that location. Sometime after Union Station was opened the old station was dismantled (I'm not exactly sure when, but it was likely in the WWI era) and ACL built a large corporate office on the site. That structure still stands, and last I heard it was operated by the Catholic Church.

Hope this helps! John Golden O'Fallon, IL
