WHY DO WE CALL MOTHER MARY, THE MOTHER OF GOD.

AS A CATHOLIC, I LEARNT THAT GOD IS THE CREATOR OF ALL. EVEN JESUS PRAYS TO GOD, THE CREATOR, THE FATHER ALMIGHTY. THEN WHY IS IT THAT WE SAY, HOLY MARY, MOTHER OF GOD, PRAY FOR US NOW & AT THE HOUR OF DEATH? IS JESUS GOD ? ISN'T JESUS CONSIDERED AS THE SAVIOUR & LORD.

If you were Catholic you wouldn't ask such questions. Of course Jesus is Savior and Lord. You only know this because of the Catholic Church. How does asking Mary to pray for us make Jesus any less than Savior and Lord? If I ask you to pray for me does that make Jesus anything less than what He is??

We call Mary mother of God because her Son IS GOD. She gave birth to Him. That makes her His mother.

and mary went to visit elizabeth and elizabeth exclaimed, "how is it that the mother of my Lord is come to visit me?"

answer your question yet?

how about when mary says "All generations shall call me blessed"?

or how about when the angel comes and calls her the most blest of all women?

what about where the bible tells us to honor our father and mother? if Jesus gave honor to his mother, mary, then should we not also emulate His perfect example in giving honor to the most blessed among women.
