Dear Nick,
Please click on this link, and observe that, on the current, universal calendar of the (Western, or Latin, Church of the) Catholic Church, the memorial of St. Rose of Lima was observed on August 23. I am referring to the calendar that was published by the Vatican and is followed by more than 95% of the Catholics in the world. [Most of the other 5% are members of Eastern Catholic churches, which have their own calendars.]

If you intend to post messages of the kind you posted above (which states that August 30 is the "feast" of St. Rose), I ask you to kindly mention the calendar on which this is true. Please do this each time you post such a message that conflicts with what I have posted in beginning the thread, so that everyone can understand the purpose of your post.

I would ask you also to explain, for the benefit of readers, the meaning of certain terms in your post -- terms that (probably) 75% of all Catholics have never heard in their lives. I am speaking of the following:
1. Double Feast
2. Introit
3. Collect
4. Gradual
5. Secret

Nick, also please explain why the prayers you have posted are in an older form of English than those heard by over 95% of Catholics today. And finally, please mention whether the English words you posted are actually spoken at any Mass -- or whether, instead, they are an unheard translation of official, spoken words that are in another language.

I would appreciate your doing these things for us. I don't want to have to ask the Moderators to delete your post as an unjustifiable intrusion.

Thank you.
John
