Don't understand the question

You want to know how to use DIVX player or the codec?

Player you just open it and drag and drop the file in to it and it'll play

Codec you just installl it so that your computer can play the movie file you download.

well i'm not really sure becuase i just downloaded it and never used it before. but i went to www.divx.com and downloaded DivX (out of Dr. Divx, and DivX Pro).it said it has DivX player with. after i downloaded it i installed it but nothing shows up so i didn't know how to watch it. there is no program or something that's called DivX in the place i saved it. and i thought i just had to open it but it doesn't work.

Well what you downloaded is a codec that has a video player bundled with it, the player is called Divxplayer and should be in your C:\Program Files\divx.

As for the codec you don't need to do anything with it as that just tells your video player(Windows Media Player or what ever) how to decode your movie encoded with divx.

Basically if you download a codec (divx,xvid,mp3,Matroska(mkv)Ogg Vorbis(ogm) and others) you don't need to do anything
