My father has had bi-lateral hip replacement in 1991. He has been fine and now in the past two months he has had to dislocations on his right hip. The first time the Doctor said it was a fluke incident and that it would not happen again and the x-ray's look great! As of yesterday, the Doctor said now that it has happened again the socket must be worn. I would like to know if there is a specific test to tell if the lining is worn and needs replacing? Also this Doctor mentioned a cup that encapsulates the ball, does that limit mobility? Please, if someone can guide me in anyway I would love to hear from you. The thought of him going through another surgery tears me up. Thanking you in advance, Heidi
