Spy Sweeper

I've 've been trying to get bittorent to work and I finally did. While I was trying to figure out how to get it to work I read some other questions and answers that people posted. I read something about Bit Torrent being unsafe, recieving letters. Could anything serious happen? I have Spy Sweeper on my computer I checked out what it could do and it has this option that says TRACKING COOKIE SHIELD. It says Actively watches for and removes tracking cookies when detected. Does this make It a bit safer? Is this option even useful?

I don't think that you'll get into much trouble by downloading anime and manga, BUT if your main downloads are music and movies, you might take some risk. Well, it all depends on what do you download and how much risk are you willing to take...

Apps like Peerguardian (http://methlabs.org/methlabs.htm) might help with other p2p client, but the peer's ip are well identified with Bittorrent.
