Just thought I'd take a peek. Notbbc's been very flakey recently, which is a pain if you don't have much time to keep updated.

I've just returned to chaos from holiday and sought the tranquility of UNUFC only to find "bits of notbbc are offline".

NOTBBC is shit. This was always the better forum with the old posts all available. Sadly this one is unreliable. We should find somewhere the old posts are saved and not discarded 2 days after posting.

Greens

We haven't paid for anywhere so far - notbbc is pretty good besides the archiving bit.

This place used to preform well but then went downhill.

Would people be prepared to pay - coz that's probably the next option. About 30 said yes as we were trawling about pre Greenspun as Communicata was kicking us out. We use a sizeable bit of bandwidth and space.

Jonno started a forum up on EZ Boards awhile back, that can be made ad-free if you pay. Not sure what the costs are, but the paid versions can handle tons of usage and do keep archives going pretty far back. There are EZ forums I peruse regularly, which get tons of traffic, but the servers rarely go down.

At the time, I think alot of people here didn't like it because the interface is not as plain as Communicata/Greenspun/Notbbc (ie, it allows avatars, smileys, html-like coding, etc). It's also pop-up laden and slow if you use the free option.

Another option, would be to jump over the Newcastle forum on bigsoccer.com. Most posters are US-based, but they do get folks from overseas, as well. Honestly, I have no idea what kind of activity is on the NUFC forum lately. I rarely look at it since there tends to be very little activity. Bigsoccer.com is free to participate, but does lock out people who don't pay a subs fee when traffic gets heavy. Not good for matchday threads. They also have more frequent server crashes which wipe out all the posts.

You are all welcome to pop in and visit me here, but do you all have to come at once?

Kettle is always on for visitors, if they are really lucky or nice I won't cook for them!
