NOTBBC seems to be going down the same track that this place went. Perhaps it is us!

More than likely! (;o)

Mind you, it`s lucky that we`ve still got this one as a lifeline.

Other than the current doom, gloom and anxiety being generated by the problems of our beloved club, how are things in your world, Clarky?

Time for a move maybe? This BBS is my touchstone and without it I would have to try and talk to the Spams about rounders...

Ho hum. Just when I've got time to try to catch up on the day's postings. Guess it's back to Chelski v Milan goalfest. Cafu did his Shearer impersonation, one touch 30yd rocket into the net.

Interesting rumours of NUFC possibly joining this tour next year. I'd love to see the team back over here again, but wouldn't look forward to paying the extortionate prices CW charges for matches AND practices ($35 to watch players flounce around in the sun for an hour, ffs!!). Not to mention the expense of travel to wherever the games take place. However, it would be a money-spinner for the club and raise our profile over here more effectively than the 2000 tour.

So, I'm unable to view any of the weekend's threads, including "Match reports" for the Newcastle/Gateshead tourney!

Sorry about that folks - the MySQL stopped responding properly last night. A couple of weeks ago UK Linux had to replace their webserver after a hardware failure and in doing so they upgraded the version of PHP and MySQL they were using. Lots of little bits of NOTBBC had to be rewritten and I'm guessing there are other sites hosted by them that haven't been looked after and are now causing problems.

Obviously there's very little I can do about this (there isn't a grerat deal UK Linux can do either, to be fair) - I'm fairly certain it's nothing we've been doing though as I've written a program to check for problem being caused by us. Even when the server is running badly, none of our database functions appear to be causing it.

Bear with it... hopefully things will get better!
