I just rebuilt a briggs and stratton 3.5 horse power push mower engine, and was wondering if you are able to make a go kart out of it. If you have any plans or ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

3.5 HP is too small and the vertical shaft makes for a lot more work. It can be done, but you may not be happy with the results.

I cannot agree more with G. Bush- It can be done but i do believe that if you put in the time to work with that engine-you will have wasted your time for nothing. I say you spend some extra time and put that engine where it belongs-on a push mower. If you are looking for a bigger engine for this go-kart project of yours, you might want to step it up to a 11 horse Briggs-i have had tremendous luck in my local heats!
