Catholic Greek Orthodox Wedding

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hello

Recently My boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage ( He is Greek Orthodox I am Catholic) and disussing on what we would do for the ceremony. ie: what church etc. Now I have no problem getting married in a Greek Orthodox Church especially with what I have been reading about the ceremoniesand how the Greek Orthodox church will not recognize the marriage outside the church. But my question is would a Catholic Deacon be allowed to be there for the ceremony? Because that is very important to me and I want part of my religion in my wedding ceremony as well. Thank you

The best thing: ask the Greek Orthodox priest.

My guess: no Deacon allowed in an official capacity.
