Windows:

Use Bsplayer and right click on the playing file you'll get options to change audio and subs.

look bottom right of your screen when you play the file and you'll see a green arrow, right click on it and you'll be able to change audio and subs from there.

Linux: RTFM

Ok. Iam too lazy to do tech support right now so i'll take the easy route.

http://womp.sourceforge.net/ Download WOMP burn to cd-r(if you don't want to keep it) cd(if you want to keep it) and use it to play the mkv files. WOMP is easy to use and it runs in ram so it won't write anything to your hard disk.

WOMP needs 128mb of ram to run in your memory other wise you'll need to use you hard disk to loop womp. The site has more on how to do it.

Another option is to download videolan (http://www.videolan.org/) But you have to use crappy windows to play the file.

You might also try their codec pack http://anime-xtreme.com/gamrcodecpack-20040704.exe

Then give Bsplayer another go. Make sure you set the language in Bsplayer and the Green arrow in the bottom right to the same I.E. Both in Japanese and English sub

Hiya!! :D im not gonna install another codec pack. 'cos if i do all the codecs r gonna clash :P. How can i play the eps (jap/eng sub) with Core Media Player? does anyone kno?

thanks for all ur help so far :D plz help (again :P) buh byeeeeeeeeee

"wen i tried to play it usin Bsplayer it said it wasnt valid" That sounds to me like you don't have the right codec installed for MKV play back.

More info if you want support, like

what version of BSplayer? what codec have you installed? windows version (95,98,me,2000,NT,XP?) what have you tryed with core media player, (change sounds, sub etc...)

WOMP won't install anything on your computer if you have 128MB of ram, all you have to do is download it (about 30MB) burn it to CD then set your computer to boot from CD, Put WOMP in the CD drive and it'll load linux from the CD. Then you can play the MKV file with what ever combination you like. Jap/no sub, jap/with sub, english/no sub english/with sub.

WOMP is an operating system like the windows your using now it lets you run your computer, telling what all the parts of your computer how to work toghter.

Your computer is made up of a, Processor(some times two) RAM(memory for the computer), Mother board (where everytihing pluged in), Graphics card(for putting pictures on the screen your looking at right now), Sound card(for you to hear whats going on in the anime/MP3), Power supply, CD drive.

What you need to do is go into your BIOS by pressing del,Esc or the F1 button when you first power on. the screen should tell you how to go into BIOS when you first power on.

find a setting called boot devices. there should be 3 boot devices number 1 should be FDD number 2 should be set to cdrom and nmuber 3 should be set to HDD 0. DO NOT change any other settings!!! Save the changes and exit.

If you set it right your computer should now check your floppy disk drive (FDD) first then your CD drive, If it finds nothing in both the it'll load windows from you hard disk drive (HDD)

Now when you downloaded WOMP and burned it to CD, leave the cd in the cd drive and trun the computer off. Wait 20 seconds and trun it back on, now your computer should find the cd in the cd drive and it'll start to boot linux, click ok on the next screen to go in to WOMP.

You can now play the file in womp.

To turnoff womp go to general tab and click shut down or is it power off? some times it'll crash and wont respond, in this case you can click on the bottom left of the screen where the start button is in windows and open a terminal, If yo click on the right option a window will pop up allowing you to type words in to. Type poweroff and hit enter this will also turn off the computer. If that does not work turn off the power, That is if WOMP is running in you memory (RAM) ----------------------------------------------------------------- You can always un-install the other codec you have and use the one i posted above to watch the file.

Hiya!! :D i must really be gettin on ur nerves now. "bow" sorry!!

ermmmmm with the last response, i cant change any of my pc's settings. Is there a kinda easier way of doin this? ^____^"

plz help :) bye

Your not getting on my nerves.

This is what you should see if you got into your bios http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Motherboards/ASUS-P4R800-V-Deluxe- Review/2/ see the pictures

Right here's what you must do

Press the power button on your computer to turn it on, it should display some information about your system before it boots windows. If your computer is a dell or some other make it'll show the (dell)company logo when you power on your computer.

If this is so you need to push the ESC key (top left on the keyboard) this will show you a screen with black back ground and some text. It'll tell you what processor you have and what key to push to go into bios, usually the del button where your number pad is (far right of the keyboard between the 0 and the enter key)

Push the key and wait for the computer to go in your bios. Look for the option to change boot device. Mine are set to the following:

1st boot device: floppy 2nd boot device: CDROM 3rd boot device: IDE-0

If you set your to the above, your computer will first look at the floppy to find any boot program, if dosen't find anything it'll look at the CDROM for boot program. if it don't find anything it'll boot what ever you have on your hard disk, in this case it's windows.

If you have WOMP burned to CD and it's in your CD drive when you turn on your computer it'll boot WOMP from the cd drive.

If this is too much you can download the boot disk and copy it to floppy, put the floppy in and put the CD in the CD drive. Turn on the power and it'll load from there.

WOMP boot disk http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/womp/womp-0.6-beta2-bootdisk.zip? download

Hiya!! :D

its good to kno that im not gettin on ur nerves ^_______^.

ermmmmm about the last response. i cant do any of them 'cos im NOT allowed to change any of the settings :P. sorry.

do u kno any easier and more quicker ways of doin this. (repeat any if u wish :D)

i belive im gettin annoyin now ^________^" buh byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

-- Hing (eileenkhkwan@hotmail.com), July 22, 2004.

If you can't change the settings and can't use WOMP's boot disk then thats out of the question.

The only thing i can suggest is to install Matroska Pack Lite v1.0.2 http://downloads.matroska.org/packs/ This only contains whats need to play back MKV files and shouldn't crash your other codecs
