2004 F4 SR - anyone got info? specs?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I've just bought a 2004 F4 SR. Has an SPR engine. I cannot find any info on this model on any MV site. Does anyone have info on performance, differences to EV04, problems (plug fouling, temp, engine cut out when hot, stiff clutch, etc?)

thanks - great bike, just want up to date info/experiences etc.

Paul

Yo! I read a small article about it on the WHAT BIKE! magazine August edition. I also came across in another bike magazine, but can't remember it. There seem to be a lot of improvement in performance -- torque, power, top speed, etc. and an additional lap timer and signed by Agostini dials. The pieps are somewhat changed and polished for to maintain distinction from the rest of the model. Beside that, there really is not much difference.

Hope this info helps.

I reckon these 300 "sr" bikes are the original "ago`s", these were 750cc then changed to 1000cc, I have a sneaky feeling the bikes were pretty much made when the decision was taken to change the engine size, rather than engine swap them all (and have 300 SPR engines with no home) they simply removed most of the "ago" parts (carbon/footrests etc) and called them the "sr"--a bargain of a bike in my opinion

I heard The F4 SR were not AGO's, they were made using the engines that they did not use in the SPR which did not sell it's full 300 units, due to the paint job and the release of the F4 1000

Hi Paul,

last of the 750s and basically and red and silver SPR at an F4 price. You got a real bargin. I'm kind of looking at one as well and had this info sent to me by my local (New Zealand) dealer. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your feedback. If anyone is interested, the only "official" MV site that I have been able to find that mentions details of the F4 SR is the UK site: www.mvagustauk.com

check it out, it has a review from MCN on the site.

Now my bike is run in, all I can say is HOLY SHIT! Handles like a dream and goes like a rocket. Power and gearing (up to 6500 revs)are fine for urban traffic, and once you get over about 7500 revs it starts to move. Hit 10,000 revs and it shows its SPR/AGO heritage!!
