bleach is good. its about a kid that can see spirits and ghosts. he then sees a shinigami. something happens to the shinigami and the kid must now take her place until she recovers. the shinigami must fight ghosts and such and send them to the soul society(kind of like a heaven for spirits).

another good manga is gantz. its about some people that die go to this apartment room with a big black ball in the middle. the ball has a bunch of strange weapons inside and suits in it. the people are then transported to an area in japan and must kill aliens to stay alive
