......i cant believe im actually answering this.......... *slaps himself in the head*

Ok a Japanese anime(short for animation. WOW!!!!!) is something that is mainly a cartoon made in Japan. As is the case for MOST animes, they are based off of popular MANGAS(Japanese comics!!!!!!).

No, it is not possible for ANY American cartoon to be CONSIDERED anime. Americans call their "animes* CARTOONS(WOW!!!). The closest American cartoon to be like a Japanese anime in terms of style, substance, or quality of animation is probably Teen Titans(for the little chibi characters used and the different Japanese-inspired actions in the cartoon)

Code Lyoko is NOT an anime and never will be. In fact, I don't consider it a cartoon. It would fall into the class of CGI animation (a mix of actual drawn cartoons and computer drawn simulations. Used a lot in Japanese anime's like Vandread. Vandread still falls into the class of Japanese animation tho, despite it having CGI in it.)

In truth, I don't consider Code Lyoko CGI animation either. I consider it CRAP. Yes, a giant bag of CRAP. We all know it is a big piece of CRAP. It is hard for any human being to distribute that much CRAP normally.

my brother keep saying that u could make a american anime and insisted that anime was purly the type of art consisting of big eyes and weird facial expression. I did not beleve that to be true for seeing that cowboy bebop and some other animes pictures r very solid of course u seem to think that i am igorant of anime is but in fact i only wanted to have solid proof to my bro.

While this question has been answered _very_ clearly, I think it's important to also consider that some Japanese animations have been largely influenced by american cartoons (as does the opposite apply) yet despite these "influences" the titles still remain quite clear - Anime = 2D animation of Japanese origin; Cartoon = 2D animation of English-speaking origin ...... At least, that's the way I've always interpreted it :P
