How easy would it be for a married Permanent Deacon to transfer rite in order to be ordained a priest?

Probably pretty difficult. Rome frowns on this sort of thing entirely. You may get the change of enrollment but it will probably be marked "May not be ordained a priest." We've had a few cases like that in the past in my own Eparchy.

Padre, Would it be accurate to say that a calling to the diaconate and a calling to the priesthood are considered seperate.

I know of one deacon who was (after the death of his wife) later ordained to the priesthood.

I was told that this was a rare exception.

Just, wondering what you thought.
