Candidates Highlights of the 47th Session of the General Conference

On Monday, June 28, 2004 numerous candidates have landed on the soil of the 4th Episcopal District in Indiana for the Quadrennial of the A.M.E. Church. It has been said that numerous Bishops, Presiding Elders, Pastors delegates and laity are sorrowful about the news of Reverend Dr. Frank Madison Reid, III decision not to run for the position of Bishop at this General Conference. However, Pastor Reid is a delegate and will be attending the General Conference as planned. Also, candidates are setting up their various vending booths and meeting with their supporters in implementing their campaigns for the week. Each morning candidates will meet in the Omini Hotel at 6:30 a.m., at the designated meeting room for prayer service. Supporters are invited to attend. Rev. Dr. George L. Champion, Candidate for Bishop will host the opening Worship service for the Department of Worship and Evangelism Service on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 9:00 a.m.,in the convention center. The Speaker of the Hour will be Rev.Marvin Zanders, Pastor of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, Jacksonville, Florida. CONGRATULATIONS CANDIDATES AND GOD's BLESSINGS!
