i'm angry that i'm paying a high monthly charge and there is no alexandria VA car where there was one before. is it going to be replaced with a hybrid or am i going to have to cancel zipcar? pissed in alexandria, jerry

the question was more about what happened to service at alexandria va.

nobody seems to answer from an email to info@zipcar.com, a call to the customer service, and this bulletin board, why service was cut and how to get it back. i'm already going out of my way in a transfer to rail and now would have to go many stops away to get a zipcar over the competition, but the competition is looking better now...

btw, fwiw, that particular car now in clarendon is 3 rail lines away with a up to 20 minute change per rail line. not in my community. no convienent. there are others at other stops, but there are 3 of the competition much closer, and one a hybrid.

Jerry: Very sorry for the delay. I was traveling and just got your message. We have been debating what to do with that location for over a year as it has never been profitable. We finally made a tough decision, and pulled the car out when we had 5 cars in the shop at once. We had a few complaints, but besides yours, none were very upset, which sort of told me something.
