The All Inclusive Christ

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

What a wonderful person Jesus is ! As Christians, it is important for us to know this person in an intimate way. We can enjoy Him in all His marvellous aspects. Not only did He die for our sins, but He has imparted His unique life into us, and this life is all inclusive. As we read the bible, we see that it unfolds this marvellous person in all His aspects. Every scripture testifies of who He is. Let us consider some of the aspects, as presented in the bible... The Lamb of God
The Last Adam
The new wine
The smitten rock with flowing water
The fountain of living water
The grain of wheat
The brass serpant
The good shepherd
The pasture
The streams
The tree of life
The vine
The bride-groom
The door
The bread of life
The sin offering
The burnt offering
The peace offering
The heave offering
The drink offering
The Head of the body
The first born from the dead
The Son of God
The Son of man
The Son of David
The Son of Abraham
The seed of David
The seed of Abraham
The seed of a woman
The high priest
The mighty God
The eternal Father
The wise counsellor
The prince of peace

He is also the reality of the good land.

In the good land we have the wheat, the barley, the figs, olive trees, grapes, pommegrannates, milk, honey, waterbrooks, streams, mount zion, which are all types of Christ.

And when we were regenerated, with Christ as our life in our spirit, we received such a rich person as this ! Have you been enjoying such a rich Christ today ? Let us allow Him to be God to us. Let us allow Him to be everything to us, that we can experience Him and enjoy Him. This is our salvation brothers and sisters.

How marvellous ! How excellent ! Proclaim His name brothers and sisters, to all the Earth ! Hallelujah !

Thanks Olly!

Our holy Lord is present to us in the celebration of the holy Mass. The holy Mass is the greatest prayer.

Jesus is crucified, dies and rises from the dead. We receive the risen Lord in holy Communion. God the Father doesn't know time. He doesn't go by a watch. The crucifixion isn't over 2000 years ago to God! Whats a year to God? But God the Father allows us to participate and receive Jesus at a holy Catholic Mass. You can spend time with Jesus in front of the Eucharist Olly.

May God bless Jesse and yourself and bring you both home to the church started by our Lord.

Thankyou for your warm wishes David. I think the post went off topic somewhat though. But thanks all the same 8-)

I think the post went off topic somewhat though.

I beg to differ with you, Oliver. If a Catholic reads your opening post, he sees that David's words to you are right "on topic." I'll show you what I mean.

You said, What a wonderful person Jesus is! As Christians, it is important for us to know this person in an intimate way.

David then mentions how he "knows this person" in the most "intimate way" of all, Holy Communion -- which you are unfortunately not receiving as a protestant. He writes, God the Father allows us to participate and receive Jesus at a holy Catholic Mass. Then David mentions another "intimate way" for you to get to "know this person," Eucharistic Adoration. "You can spend time with Jesus in front of the Eucharist, Olly."

You asked, Have you been enjoying such a rich Christ today?

David explained that he has "been enjoying" Christ in the fullest possible way. He and I invite you to do the same some day, Oliver.

Hi, Olly

You mentioned pastures, streams etc... But you did't do what Jesus ordered the Apostles to hand down in the Gospels; that He took bread and after giving thanks, said:" Do this in remembrance of me; this is my body." In like manner He took also the chalice, gave thanks, and said," This is, my Blood." And to them only did He give it. You can spend time with Jesus in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

You left the most imortant out Olly! The celebration of Mass is a participation in the one eternal sacrifice of Jesus, who was crucified, died, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. That which is ALWAYS present to the Father, who doesn't know time, is made present in this time and space for us. We receive the risen Lord at Mass when we receive the Eucharist.

May God lead you to the truth Olly. You should start praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament about this.

God bless you Henry.

I am a protestant - I have Holy Communion, I have the Eucharist - I take the Body and Blood of my Saviour' How dare you rubbish that experience?
