Answers

I don't think it isn't. All the authors in the credit looks American. Code Lyoko isn't good anyways.

-- Orias Eventide (axlemangik@yahoo.com), May 24, 2004.

Yeah it sucks, and I DID wonder if it was Anime but it wasn't listed on Anime News Network and yeah all the names are American...Is anyone else sick of these shit American companies ripping off Anime?! First it was the gay Teen Titans, the pioneer of them all. Then we got Totally Spies, Code Lyoko, that Martin Mystery crap on the FoxBox and much more. Seriously-I think that American cartoon companies are worried that since Anime is becoming so popular they're gonna go out of buisness, so they need to start ripping off Anime's uniqueness! Christ! I may be an Anime obsessor, but that doesn't stop me from watching kick-ass shows like Spongebob, Fairly OddParents or Dexter's Laboratory!! The more American companies rip off Anime the LESS likely I'll be to watch American cartoons!!!! If they keep it up I'll stick to Anime and shows like Family Guy and South Park. Anyone agree with me on this?

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 25, 2004.

Yeah, don't forget abt the "new" TMNT kiddie crap.

-- Pearson (nona@aol.com), May 25, 2004.

They have inhumanly large heads in code lyoko it is faggish

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), May 25, 2004.

What's TMNT?

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 26, 2004.

ummm...it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. yeah, i agree with everyone when they say it sucks(those heads/forheads are HUGE!), but i DO like the theme song. that's probably all i like about it.

-- Kat Wally (HitokeriBatosai_Oni@hotmail.com), May 26, 2004.

Yeah that's crap too. Did you know the Teen Titans theme is ACTUALLY sung by real Japanese people?! I saw it on the Cartoon Network Fridays one time!! Do they have NO PRIDE?! Either that or they had never seen the show and had no idea it ripped off Anime. That's going just TOO far. I LOVE Japanese Anime music!!! I've got over 150 MP3's!!!!!!!!!!!! Why the Hell would you take it and warp it around your sick little Anime mockery?! I just hate America. We have NO respect for other cultures, be it Japan or anywhere else. We suck.

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 26, 2004.

Oh, so large eyes are okay, but when it's the head that gets bigger people go complain.

-- ubb (demonreaper73@hotmail.com), May 26, 2004.

yeah, i have a ton of mp3s too.....did you know that the teen titans theme is sometimes sung in japanese on episodes?...that sux. i think they're trying to attract the Anime audiences with something that ISN'T Anime....that's retarded. THEY DIDN'T GET ME!..^_^. what realllllly pisses me off is Totally Spies. I. HATE. THAT. SHOW. two words: Valley Girls. 'this mission is, totally, like, clashing with my style!'...^_^() or something like that. VALLEY GIRLS!!! VALLEY. GIRLS. HATE. THEM. i've seen the commercial for the dvds a million times! they even have VALLEY GIRLS on the commercial! 'totally cool missions! totally awesome outfits!' AUUGHHHHHHH!!!! KAT. HATE. THEM! ^_^. i'm done. Kat-in-the-school(this is stupid, but my friends and i think it's funny to say stuff like that about me, like Kat-in-the-car, in-the- school, to copy cat-in-the-hat. ^_^ 'cause i am KAT!)

-- Kat Wally (HitokeriBatosai_Oni@hotmail.com), May 26, 2004.

Exactly. American retards are realizing Anime is popular so they think if they emulate it, even down to the point that Teen Titans goes to, they can pull Anime fans into their shit. Like I said above, America "Like, TOOOOOTALLY Omigosh" sucks. Sorry Kat, I just put that in as a joke to you. But seriously there is something wrong with this country when it comes to Television.

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 27, 2004.

Code Lyoko...I never bothered watching. I like TMNT, though. It doesn't emulate anime at all or anything, so there's no reason to hate it or anything. I like Totally Spies becuase they've got the coolest outfits that I'd never wear but are cool anyways.

Any, by saying that Americans have no respect for other cultures, you're saying that no American who likes anime can emulate it in anyway. Does that mean that if your an anime artist in America, you don't have respect for Japanese anime artists? That idea is just stupid.

-- KirbyHead (KirbyHead@yahoo.com), May 27, 2004.

Anericans that try to emulate Anime are little bitches.I was at this book store one day and they had this comic called Mega Tokyo by Bob somthing. And guess what section i found it in ... THE MANGA SECTION !!! I am Mexican/Dominican and i draw Manga but come on !!! American companies shoul stop bitchin around with Anime AND MANGA

-- Enrique Cabrera (TakkunJing24@aol.com), May 27, 2004.

I know it seems like I'm a hypocrite but it's not the same. I RESPECT Anime so much that I draw it all the time and am even making my own Dragonball Doujinshii as well as a sortof Doujinshii-Manga combo thing. It's a fan work by someone with respect and love for the Anime and Japanese language and culture. I'm not some dumb hick who says "Hey that Anny-Mee thing is popular so if we make a show like that it'll be popular too". They do it for the sake of profit, where as I do it out of respect. Does that make sense?

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 28, 2004.

ya i know~ the real anime is just so much better than the american versions that it is a disgrase to america basically. I like the theme song to code lyoko, but the cartoon absoutlty sucks, dont ever consider such a thing anime. LEAVE IT TO THE JAPANESE! THEY DO IT BETTER! and they are at least nice enough to make english versions of the episodes! oh and ya i cant belive they even got JAPANESE girls to sing the teen titans theme song in japanese! it is horrilbe, and why do i keep spelling japanese wrong?

-- kali (kaliturrin@msn.com), May 29, 2004.

You also spelled DISGRACE wrong. i dont really even think its considered and anime. Ten Titans used to be a comic, maybe made in japan, stop dissing americas attempts to recreate anime!!! don't u guys have anything beter to do!!!!

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), May 29, 2004.

Code Lyoko has bad

Retarded names (Odd, sissy, oreck?)

Voice Acting

They have BIG HEADS

Shut the Fuck up Informer. America Sucks !!! The Japanese rule ...

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), May 31, 2004.

so america can't recreate anime what about what we already have such as Spider-Man Catwoman Superman Spawn X-Men The Punisher Batman Hellboy the list goes on that is one type of art America is excellent at Comic Books. Graphic Novels and Mangas are somewhat annoying having to read backwards.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), May 31, 2004.

the japanese read backwards because that is how thw human eyes naturally flow. Anerican comics suck. I hate marvel,DC, and other american comic companies. They also make the SUCKIEST movies ever (exept HellBoy

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), May 31, 2004.

So all you ever watch read think about dream of eat drink Fuck smell and so n is all anime there are soo many things ot there and your limiting yourself to anime. thats shallow. sorry man but tats just not healthy

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), June 01, 2004.

I fear for some peoples minds.... Obviously some of your obsessions with anime has caused your brains to shrink to the size of a raisin.

-- Idiots (dontbother@withit.com), June 01, 2004.

So let me get this straight, jing is dissing informer because he thinks informer is disrespecting anime, then he proceed to put down marvel and other american comic publishers?

-- ubb (demonreaper73@hotmail.com), June 01, 2004.

well jing is an animaniac and is proabaly huddled in a corner at this very moment talking to himself saying how he is great and anime is all that matters. Money makes the world go round people havent u noticed this yet. Who give a fuck about how much something sucks or how gay it is if it is raking in a profit. That's all i have to say really and plz dont reply with an petty insult for you see i won't give a damn.

-- Death to them all (likeidsayit@whogivesafuck.com), June 02, 2004.

Stupid asses. I actually buy the Anime i watch and the Manga i read. I dont limit myself to anime i just respect it a lot, Retard. I am still in school. i bet most of you are nerdy bitches in the math club or work at McDonalds and dot even know how to fight.

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), June 03, 2004.

For those of you that work in Mikey D's or some other pathetic fast food resturaunt, I bet most of you have tried to become Employee of the month (And by what Ive heard so far you have all failed). I dont know whats more pathetic, You failing at it or that it was acually a goal of yours (Stand up material sample).

Im guessing "Death To You All" has a real job.Congradulations, All thos insults arent for you. They are for the Cheap Lazy BASTARDS that download all the good Anime thay can.Downloadin is so GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY like all of your dads.

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), June 03, 2004.

This is really actually a major change in Kat Wally's topic...

-- Jing (TakkunJing24@aol.com), June 04, 2004.

YOU'RE ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT!!! thank you! no offense to anyone who wrote on this board, but it WAS getting a bit out of hand...oh well. i've got my answer. thanks, guys.

-- Kat Wally (HitokeriBatosai_Oni@hotmail.com), June 04, 2004.

Just thought I'd say that Code: Lyoko is not American. It's French as can be determined by the names at the very beginning of the show.

-- Aolahani (kawaiijagangel@yahoo.com), June 07, 2004.

And about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: It has been around for a long time. I watched it when I was little. So the 'stupid Americans' (which we aren't anyway) didn't try to fashion it off of anime to get people to watch it. It was popular a long time ago.

-- Aolahani (kawaiijagangel@yahoo.com), June 07, 2004.

YEAH!! i remember watching it on USA kids right i was about 5 years old

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 07, 2004.

there WAS a TMNT awhile ago...but the animation and everything was REALLY different. i remember that my siblings were obssessed w/it, but i was too young to get into it...the one on now is a bit...different than the one that was on before. i don't remember the storyline from the older one, but i DO remember the theme song! ^_^ heroes in the half-shell! TURTLE POWER!

-- Kat Wally (HitokeriBatosai_Oni@hotmail.com), June 10, 2004.

Code Lyoko rules all. The show is just plain sweet. The music is very addictive and i am looking for the theme song to download.

-- Auron (Auron_theman@yahoo.com), June 11, 2004.

*ignoring Auron* That was back when USA was like Channel 18 or some shit. i remember watching it every morning. The new version strays alot from that and the messed up Splinter thouroghly. (HE...SHOULD...BE...BROWN!!!!! NOT GRAY! BROWN!!!!BROWN!!!! BROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWNBROWN) It was on this thing called USA kids. *Sighs* Good times Good times.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 12, 2004.

Oh and here is a little something for Jing. I am not going to cus you out, Jing, like you did for me because i am beyond you. i was not putting your respnses down thats not me. I dont come here to insult people. I come to open there eyes. You come off saying "Fuck you Infoermer Shut the Fuck up. Stop insulting Japan..oh and by the way america suck, you suck...dont pu other people down" i dont see how you can tell me not to insult anime and other poeple when you do the same thing to me and america. think wht you want i dont care, JUST STOP TELLING TO NOT DO SOMETHING WHEN ALL YOU DO IS TURN AROUND AND DO JUST THAT.....HYPOCRITE!!!!

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 12, 2004.

Enrique Cabrera, Hey man, Mega Tokyo rules alright? It's not some big company, it's a guy who enjoys and respects anime and has actually gotten to the point where his comics are on the shelves. He's made it to where I want to be some day, so don't put him down because he's made it doing something he loves.

Jing, There are alot of us out here that also have fallen in love with anime and the culture that created it. I also consider myself to be quite obsessed with it all, but to suggest that it is a disrespect to emulate that artstyle is nonsense. Mimickery is the highest form of flattery after all. It's actually rather hard for America to come up with it's own thing since it is a mix of all cultures and is influenced by them all. Japan fell in love with and adopted baseball, and we fell in love with and (are trying to anyway) adopt anime. It's all the same, we are ONE world, it's ok to act like it. PEACE.

-- Sioko Ti (Sioko@Charter.net), June 16, 2004.

Yes i somewhat agree with that accept my message is not quite as fruity around the edges. what i mean is just because america makes action cartoons doesnt mean that it is trying to copy anyone. and yeah i also agree that it is almost impossible for america to have its own thing because we are a mixture of culture. but when we break it down we all have red blood, white teeth, lots of bones and dead brains. were all the same....more or less.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 16, 2004.

Code Lyoko:So you know

Code Lyoko is a French "anime" with american twists on it. They include real places, such as the factory and the school into the show. Thats right you can visit the places in France. It is considered an anime although I dont think it is.

-- Dragon master (Blsthebomb@aol.com), June 21, 2004.

Erm..ok..let's see here, the previous poster is right, Code Lyoko IS a "Friench" anime, believe ir or not, Europe has started recreating manga and anime and I daresay they're quite good at it, better than Americans are anyway :P Loonnng thread, I like Code Lyoko and Teen Titans, I'm not ashamed to say that, they're both for entertainment of the public besides, America is supposed to be open to other cultures, everyone somehow copies another's style, anime isn't just Japanese anymore for anyone who didn't get the memo. FYI, Teen Titans (The show) is also drawn by a Japanese artist. Hmmmm what else was dissed on here? *searches* Oh yah, MegaTokyo, you DO NOT diss that :P Has anyone heard of online manga? THat's a kick too, these people are trying to be mangaka as well but they don't care about what profit they make, Mega Tokyo's artist just got popular enough to be offered a deal and published. I also heard that its quite popular in Japan as well (got translated I think o_O) so there.

Blargh...Jing's an Otaku, don't mind him, if he's still here lol. Otaku's believe that only manga and anime from Japan are "real" and won't accept anything else so they naturally wouldn't like recreations from other countries. I would know since I used to be one but then I found out that recreations are actually funnny sometimes XD Cept TMNT -___- Blah...I was a big fan of that when I was little, like quite a few people on here ^^ So I can't stand the recreation, its all...wrong. THe storyline is messed up and the characters aren't the ones I remember from childhood ^^

Let's see, we've gone astray from the toppic, I actually have no clue where to find the Code Lyoko theme song other than Kazaa or WinMix :P I warn one on Kazaa though, if you're not paying for it, EVERYTHING is laced with viruses -___-

-- starsniper (seiya_starsniper@hotmail.com), June 21, 2004.

Code Lyoko was made by the french so it wasn't an american attemt, we just bought 50/60 some episodes from them. They big head thing is just whack, yes. The story line is interesting exept, NONE OF THEM EVER GET KILLED!!!!! They opening is good yes. Ther is no Mp3 out, yet. If you go to codelyoko.com the theme song is the backround on the site. Anyway, what is jereme gonna do? He falls in love with a computer program? What will he do, start having sex his keyboard? Nine months later, the printer prints out a baby!?

-- Lords89 (lords89@Mail.com), June 22, 2004.

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Code:lyoko is a great show. its not anime, its french (sheesh if you want to dis something find out about it first!) everyoine has there own opinion though, and that opinion better have a good argument!!!

-- Brainof7 (brainof7@hotmail.com), June 22, 2004.

I'm not talking about code lyoko when I say this, but what I really hate is how lots of people hate japan yet they take anime and stuff from them.that's like hating neopets but going to their website to download their screen savers.

-- Viper-=First Class Retard=-(MHX) (wasn'tme@graal.net), June 22, 2004.

TMNT did come out years ago and the style of it was different but the newer version was drawn like the COMIC BOOK NOT ANIME. Totally Spies came out before Teen Titans, and yes it would be a good show if it wasnt for the valley girl thing (I HATE VALLEY GIRLS!!!) and for the overly trying to be Japanese thing (Teen Titans is the same way). Code Lyoko is French and no I really don't think they are trying to be Japanese. Besides Yumi and Sissy being Japanese there is nothing else there to make me think Anime. There is a such thing as creating a good show without trying to copy anime style (Of course there are those people who forget that (*cough* Totally Spies I mean goodness they try way too hard). Anime is great I am a major Otaku but I don't like it when other countries copy Japan. That doesn't make the show better it makes it worse cause they always try too f***** hard so it makes it hard to take a show seriously.

-- The Pocky Bandit (dreampaji@earthlink.net), June 22, 2004.

hmm. Code Lyoko is a kick ass show. Im a Anime Purist and I dont care if others rip off anime's style. What works works as far as I am concerned. For something coming out of France I like it alot. It kinda reminds me of the matrix in a few ways but it is original enough for me to actually sit still long enough to watch it, and I hate missing an episode which Im prone to doing during the summer break.

-- Christopher Garner (ravage--3@alltel.net), June 22, 2004.

Really, um, can't we all respect what we all like? I mean, I LIKE Totally Spies and I LIKE Teen Titans and I LIKE Code Lyoko. But even if I didn't, that's no reason to bash it. To the odd one...Jeng...*if he ever comes back...* Hey, I'm still in school too and you're assumption that we all hold McDonalds jobs and we don't know how to fight is quite incorrect. Don't judge before you know who you're talking to. I mean, I most certainly do not work at McDonalds and I am a Red Belt in Tae Kwan Do, so I guess at least one of the rest of us BESIDES you, Jeng, knows how to fight. Never assume (or judge) before you know everyone you're talking to. ^-^ Much love to all!

-- Linka (snwboardinangel6@aol.com), June 23, 2004.

*HOW* can you all say Code Lyoko isn't good? It sucks? Phht, ya rite!

It's like the BEST cartoon show EVER.

Whoever thinks it sucks is *such* a LOSER.

Signed,

Cho

-- Cho Chang (someone@somewhere.com), June 23, 2004.

what i am trying to understand is how does knowing how to fight have to do with any of this. whatever..i am an anime realist (i am pioneering my own beleifs as far as anime goes) i try to keep an open mind about an animes good and bad qualities. Assunming Code:Lyoko is an anime. the animation is strange (Giant heads) But that is a good effect how it is drawn when they r not in Lyoko and computer generatedd while in Lyoko (when i first say the matrix in 1999 i thought thaey could have used the same effect, with computer generation inside the matrix and live action in the matrix) the sound trac is good, but it isn't the best. Hmm the acting isnt the best either. the story is okay, and all,. when it comes down too it Code:Lyoko.

TMNT the new version. Has Bad story lines, Bad acting, bad animation, bad ouns, bad acting, its all arund BAD. the old version was good, but the new version is making like power rangers. the original was good but then they killed it with some horrible follow ups.

and now must ask u all. To JOIN THE REALIST REVOULUTION. ANIME REALISM YEAH.!.!.!

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 23, 2004.

Yeah i think somewhat the same way informer. anime realism. cool yeah i guess you could say im an anime realist.

-- (Censored) ((censored)@(censored).net), June 23, 2004.

Oh, wonderful... A nice, roasty debate over what is/isn't anime and who is/isn't allowed to make it. Let's bring some logic in here, shall we? FACT: Code Lyoko is French, not American. FACT: Anime is also the French word for animation. FACT: Anime is also just a shortened word for animation. FACT: All of the names in Code Lyoko are perfectly real and valid names. The name 'Odd' is Norwegian. The name 'Ulrich' is Old English. 'Yumi' is obviously Japanese. 'Jeremie' is also English. 'Sissi,' I believe, was simly creative liberty. And 'Aelita' is from a different world, so she doesn't need an Earth name. FACT: The show takes place in France, and is, in fact, based off of a freal place in France. (of course, the events in the storyline didn't actually happen) FACT: Just because Yumi is Japanese doesn't mean that the creators are trying to be. FACT: It doesn't even LOOK like Japanese-style anime. Theie entire bodies, and especially faces, are set up completely different. Is it a crime to make ANY show nowadays that stars humans and isn't completely cartoony? It apparently did pretty well in France so they brought it here. Don't jusge before you know all of the facts. I'll admit, it's aimed at a younger audience, but they sure did have a lot of fanservice considering. I can kind of see people complaining about Teen Titans since it blatantly rips off of AzuManga Daioh style, but the fact is, the man behind the TV series is Japanese. GET THE FACTS. I'm sick and tired of purist scum going around saying that every new show that comes out copies off of anime, and declaring it evil. You know what? America isn't stealing anime. What's happeneing right now is, it's coming to equalibrium. Most anime started coming to the US after Pokemon. That's when companies realized they could hit it big with little kids, and even older audiences. The Japanese were never good with showing too much motion, but as more Japanese anime came here, more American cartoons went there. Are the Japanese 'copying American-style' by adding more motion to their shows? Just because America is using some of their art techniques, does that mean we're copying them? I watch shows for the stories, not the styles. But what a shame, you're all too shallow to look beyond the flashy exterior... Shame.

-- Psychic Jack (psychicjack@yahoo.com), June 23, 2004.

What the hell is wrong with you jackasses. Just because the pepole in Code:Lyoko have big heads doesent mean that its not a good show. I'm proud to say that its one of my favorite shows. Its unimagitive people like you guys that make pepole like myselfe mad. I dont mean to make myself soud like a jerk but I feel the need to defened one of my favorite shows. I'm actualy a very nice person. Oh and by the way Code:Lyoko was made in France.

-- Colette McKiernan (tmckiernan@piopc.net), June 23, 2004.

ATTENTION COLLETTE-- EVERYONE KNOWS THAT CODE:LYOKO WAS MADE IN FRANCE, I THINK IT HAS BEEN SAID ENOUGH TIMES FOR I TO BE DRILLED INTO PEOPLES MIND. and did you even read my last posti said code:lyoko was an all around good show. The Big Heads just look weird and are easy to make fun of. you need to read lll the posts instead of the stupid posts by Jing and any other Otaku u may find on this site.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 23, 2004.

isnt this a french cartoon? I mean have we stooped so low that we have FRENCH cartoons? Whats next, super heroes throwing cresaunts? (Did I spell that right?)

-- (marmanan@infi.net), June 25, 2004.

Okay you people really need to stop critisizing this show. i happen to like it a lot and i admit that at first the heads disturbed me but after watching it a few times, it didnt really bother me anymore. i'm sick of people always making fun of things just because they dont like it. well if you dont like something PEOPLE keep it to yourselves or tell your friends I DONT CARE! but dont go blabbing about it to us because most of us DONT GIVE A RATS ASS!

and to answer the question for this post, no i'm sorry but i dont know where to get any of the music. theyre bound to come out with something soon. ^_*

-- Christine (hotchicks1017@cox.net), June 26, 2004.

WHo cares what kind of show it is. Anime or regular or whatever? I watch a show if I like it, not because of the way it's animated.

-- Master Shake (shakezulatheoldschoola@mail.net), June 26, 2004.

Well I hate to tell you this, but Code Lyoko is French...NOT Japanese. We based Teen Titans on anime because anime is an amazing form of animation. Have you ever stopped to consider that it is being used to introduce Japanese culture to small children who are too young to watch the more violent animes. It is shown to help children accept other cultures that some are just too shallow to comprehend. I think they are a good thing as well as entertaining cartoons.

-- Jeni (gone4good_again@hotmail.com), June 26, 2004.

ok, i THINK we get the POINT that Code: Lyoko is FRENCH...i went through this, and it's stated SEVEN TIMES. like some people didn't read ALL the posts before them or something ...it's getting repetitive...

i dont really give a fuck about the way its animated. i touched on that because the heads do look weird. it doesnt afect my rating on the show. as for the new TMNT, it can bite my ass because whoever made that shit fucked it up in speades.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 27, 2004.

i have a way of telling Anime or not. My little brother had been watching it and when i took a look, their eyes are too small. I mean Anime eyes are like Gundam Seed, DBGT......

-- GogetasWR (tripoidx3gundam@hotmail.com), June 27, 2004.

so ur saying the size of the eyes determines whether a show is anime or not.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 27, 2004.

Hey! Code:Lyoko is french!

hahaha! Now I've repeated it again, that makes me look like I know something right? hehehaha! Geez... all this crap is getting pretty sad. Half these people are acting like only their opinion matters on wether a show is good or not and most of that opinion seems to hinge on the style of animation used. The other side is involved in a debate on what anime actually is, or what qualifies as anime. So what? Where is the theme song to Code:Lyoko? Has more than just two people posting here even looked for it?? I have, I can't find it. If it is found I suggest that info get posted to another thread cause it may never be found in this debate hall. Poor Kat just wanted some music... :( poor poor Kat:( started a war...

-- Sioko (Sioko@Charter.net), June 28, 2004.

Im gettin really ticked off cuz of all you people fightin over anime. Does it really matter if its anime or not? I mean i like anime shows but shouldnt it really be about if the show is good or not. Personally i dont like Code Lyoko but that doesnt mean its a bad show, yes they have big heads and odd has wannabe hair like vegeta but other people obviously like the show. So all u anti- american/french animation people give it up. The dang japs wouldnt have brought the shows over here if they didnt want us to see them. The american artists are drawin their own stuff, they may be influenced by anime but that nesscarily doesnt mean that they are copying them. I dont understand why u guys think that TMNT is worse than the old series, the theme song is quite good but it is also a pretty good show. Its stupid how all you people are sayin all this stuff against each other about anime, if you really are tryin to respect anime you wouldnt be condoning hate of other shows or gettin mad at other people for their own opinions.

Hmm... I'm not gonna bust my head over pondering over how most of you guys LIKE Code: Lyoko. I envy ur awesome attention spans. Anyhow, I must agree when I say that American- anime hybrids( Totally spies, and Teen titans) seem pretty weird; however, the Teen Titans way of displaying humorous parts of the show rivals that of pure anime. teen titans isn't so bad. Totally spies...ugh. (Please anyone who argues in favor of Totally spies will just get a sigh of pity from me; I won't waste time w/ anyone who likes that show.) All I'm saying is that the purest stylized shows will always be a success. Shows such as Fairly oddparents are great and so are the deep plots of Anime. I'll always admire anime for its complexity. I must say that a lot of American shows are extremely entertaining for their humor. Overall, I advise you all to stop criticizing. Rather you should realize that new types of shows are springing up everywhere. They'll at first seem weird; maybe even stay that way (cough cough-CODE LYOKO, Totally spies- cough), but you should rather absorb than get all hot headed (Jing). By the way Psychic Jack...you made everyone look like noobs, GOOD JOB!.

Im sorry for sayin "dang japs" but this argument is unreal.

-- Lee Thomas (TrueBaller2134@netscape.net), June 28, 2004.

All I have to say is that CODE LYOKO stinks, I don't care about someone else's opinion becuz everyone should have the same opinion about that lame show. My opinion on whatever other issues that are being discussed in this thing are the same as the peoples that wrote the last 2 responses.

-- Mike (Mikemaster721@aol.com), June 28, 2004.

and why, Mike, Do you think it stinks (and dont say "because its gay" or "its stupid" i need a better explaination than that)

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), June 28, 2004.

hey, um. Code: Lyoko is pretty good, I found the big heads to be a bit wierd at first, but people don't watch anime to criticize it right? Anways, tell me if you find the theme song to download, I'll holler too.

-- peI-Lynn J. (funkychcikenbuttlover@yahoo.com), June 28, 2004.

I think CODE LYOKO is weird because of the animation and how the episodes are arranged. I'm not saying no one should watch it, but it's just a strange show to me. In all of the episodes at the end, the little computer girl aelita, puts down the CODE LYOKO password just in time before something bad happens, and the show is very repetitive. The Jeremy kid says, "Return to the past now" after every single episode. I just don't like it. I really don't care if anyone else likes it or not, I'm just expressing my opinion.

-- Mike (Mikemaster721@aol.com), June 28, 2004.

I just wanted you guys to know that Code Lyoko isn't American, But it's French and that's why it's hard to find the Theme song in American. The name of it in French is "Un monde sans danger". In Amrerica it's called "A World Without Danger" If you're still looking for a link to where it can be found you can download it here: http://www.k-ichigo.com/bgm.html It's at the bottom of the page right above the "close window" link. It's in French. I've yet to find a copy of it in english to download. Oh yeah, I read somewhere up there something about "totally Spies" Well, that is also French. Any other questions or if you're just bored and feel like talking to someone, Add me to AIM: Shadowedcloak.

-- Kikai Raito (shadowed_cloak@hotmail.com), June 29, 2004.

Thanks so much! If people would pay attention they would totally see that both Code Lyoko and Totally Spies are French and NOT American. Not that I really watch the shows myself, I find it really stupid when people complain about shows. They were made with a lot of hard work and calling the pople who make then stupid just because you don't like their style is really imature. But whatever, we do live in America where we have the freedom of free speach.

-- Cj (MsAnimegurl@netscape.net), June 29, 2004.

Go to this web address for the song with french lyrics... www.k- ichigo.com/bgm.html

-- Peach (moonglassmaiden@hotmail.com), June 29, 2004.

uhh i don't see why you guys got into a full scale war about what is and what is anime and who is copying who over a song! and besideds ive listend to it and really don't see whats good about the song cuz i can't understand french.oh ya and who cares about totally spies?!

-- Karrie (Numbuh1_chic@yahoo.com), June 29, 2004.

I don't think anybody actually cares about Totally Spies, it's not that good of a show at all. I don't care for it at all. We're not really into a war about Code: Lyoko, but we're discussing it in depth. This is what intelligent people call a persuasive argument. Well, I personally like the song because I can understand French. That's the same reason i like Ayumi Hamasaki. -starts a new conversation- She's Japanese, but I can understand that too. And just for you people who're wondering, i'm not some weird old person watching cartoons, i'm only 16.

-- Kikai Raito (shadowed_cloak@hotmail.com), June 29, 2004.

Code Lyoko is the best show ever suckas

-- Ulrich Stern (azaka12@hotmail.com), June 29, 2004.

Ok,ok people. Aaaah opinions, we all have them fortunately. But stop and consider. Anime is animation, which is just another type of art expression. Even in anime there is versitility in how things look. Big heads? Good grief. Just when was the last time you saw an alien, or talking animal? So they have big heads, big deal, animation isnt meant to be real, no matter who draws it, or what country it origionates from. the fact is all forms of art are expressions of the artist, and there is no form of it that hasnt been inspired from some other source. Whether its the painting of the Mona Lisa, sculpure of an angel, or an inspiration from a much loved japanese mangaka, its all been inspired by admiration. What if the first horror novelist would have been the last only because its forbidden to reproduce a style of art. By repressing imagination for fear of immitating, we take away from ourselves choice and variety, and the freedom to enjoy and express ourselves.

-- sel (cny80500@centurytel.net), June 30, 2004.

yeah, america sucks. we're not even our own country. can you believe that everything we have here we stole from some one else? i mean, first, we leave great britain, create our own democracy (sure, it's the longest lasting society at the moment, but wtf?), and we have to have everything imported. why the hell should we eat chinese food in america? or italian? or pakistani? who fuck do we think we are? oh, and the fact that we idolize everything and want to integrate everyone elses ideas into our own society, what a load of crap.

-- Limmuel Banister (limmuel@comcast.net), June 30, 2004.

We didnt really steal it. People from ither countries and inluenced us. The native americans in turn influenced them. Have you read about the pilgrims. When they got here they received help from the native A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N-S who taught them how to farm and build stronge houses. Over time more cultures came to amereica and those cultures and the Native american culture both influences each other. Todday te cultures are so intermixed we cant truthfully haven any idea where the hell everything came from.

-- Informer X (ithinkimhigh@sbcglobal.net), July 01, 2004.

I think the plot the story and stuff are cool.awesome in fact. By the way anyone know were to get the code lyoko music?

-- Emmanuel (remes@cableone.net), July 01, 2004.

Emanuel- look above a few replies for the link, I'm not willing to be the one to repeat it the third time... I understand it's alot to dig through from the beginning but at least make the effort ^_^'

Limmuel- If you live here in America, I've got two words of advice for you...

MOVE OUT!

Geez, expressing disgust or hate for your own country and it's accomplishments is really rather pathetic. You would have to have seriously failed all your social studies classes up till now to have such an ignorant opinion. I'm sorry, but every country has it's highs and lows in history and personally I'm thankful for having been born here. I like having access to so many diffrent cultures. I can't say how many times I've heard our fellow fans in Europe complain about how near immpossible it is for them to aquire anime at all. It's sad that all countries can't be as even vaguely accepting of other cultures as us and have the resourses to make it available to their citizens. Sad. I love America and am appreciative of all our artforms, and shades of beauty. Bring on the acceptance! Bring on the tollerance! Limmuel, I hope some day you can see the beauty of all cultures and appreciate the insperation they have given us in all aspects of our lives *^_^*

Peace

back on to subject.

Code lyoko is my Favorite show. I like Totally Spies. I like teen titans. and i like TMNT(this is such a bold move). Code Lyoko places Do Exist (like the factory and where it is located) however Kadic College(the school)Does NOT exist it is based off a real school called Lakanal College. the two schools have THE EXACT SAME FLOOR PLANS and the same look.

-- Norman (nightfalcon4@yahoo.com), July 02, 2004.

teen titan and code lyoko are the best

-- sammy (samspmus@yahoo.com), July 02, 2004.

Teen titans is cool but not lyoko.

Yeah Teen Titans is okay. andi soewhat agree with informer on the atrributes of Code:Lyoko. But totally speia gets Tres Faggish really fast.

-- (Censored) ((censored)@(censored).net), July 03, 2004.

okay...maybe i wasn't too clear with my point. i was being sarcastic. of course i love this country. it's the only place i know that would support me going to school. i love it here because i can experience all cultures at the same time w/o ever buying a plane ticket. sorry for the troubles, but i do love teen titans, i think it's hilarious, despite what the rest of you may come up with.

-- Limmuel (limmuel@comcast.net), July 05, 2004.

btw, if it wasn't for america, japan would never have made the step to advance with the rest of the world. back then, the country was very ethnocentric, not allowing any imports or exports. we should be thankful for them and ourselves, not glorifying one country over the other.

-- Limmuel (limmuel@comcast.net), July 05, 2004.

ya know what else i love about america? the constitution. amendment one. freedom of speech is so great, whether or not you're for or against, everyone's opinions matter. idiot or not. but yeah, still, consideration and respect would be nice to see. i love anime, and i consider anything that was influenced by the original japanese theme and art style to be anime. teen titans or code lyoko, it's all good to me. except, i never really understood code lyoko.

-- Limmuel (limmuel@comcast.net), July 24, 2004.

Yeah i agree. people gotta stop dissin our shit or else nothing will get done. Kat Wally asked if anyone found the code lyoko theme p for download. and so far we have accomplished nothing because we do nothing but argue and talk shit.

-- (Censored) ((censored)@(censored).net), July 24, 2004.

I support anyone with a reasonable explaintion to their opions. Also anime is short for animation and no where in the dictionary does it say that anime is only for the japanese. so who cares if Americans and French call code:Lyoko or TMNT anime, technicaly they are correct. Also I do happen to like Code:Lyoko, Teen Titians, and I kinda like totally spies(even if I can't spell them). But I like them because I'm an open-minded person, not because they're like anime or some other stupid reason. Hell, I used to watch these shows from one perpective untill one of my friends said something about them now I watch from several different views.

-- Tenshi Tsubasa (moonkitty_900@hotmail.com), July 25, 2004.

actually, we have found the code lyoko theme song. however, i'm looking fo the instrumental only. the one we have is with french lyrics, it's not bad, i just rather have the instrumental for my website.

uh i like the proud family too

-- BOBBY HERE (TNT_0077@hotmail.com), August 15, 2004.

I hate how people love japan and not even there own damn country. If your too young to leave stop bitching about it. Code Lyoko IS A GOOD TV SHOW. Anime is animation. It isn't a style. SPONGEBOB is anime in the language of japan. You fruits just like all the drama and they guy with the insanely big sword who goes "I am a loner I am so strong watch me CRY" BORING. Code Lyoko is ORIGINAL. Since it doesn't look like ANIME at ALL. you ALL need your eyes checked. Stop basing a show on what its trying to copy and base it on if you like the story and characters. The only voice acting YOU like is what you need to download subtitled to understand

-- Janie's Got a gun! (lala@whoflungpoo.com), August 20, 2004.

yeah...but, jeez. spongebob is great and all. but i...i don't know. even though i like to consider shows from japan as 'anime', i value it just as much as all the other shows from around the world. i don't neccasarilly call everything anime. but, hey, whichever.

....who lives in a pineapple under the sea....

-- Limmuel (limmuel@comcast.net), August 20, 2004.

Actually, you guys are getting all worked up about nothing. Code Lyoko is not "Americans" ripping off Japanese animation, actually it comes from France, so blame the French. Get your facts straight first next time.

Uh...Janie not everybody judges shows on what they're trying to copy. I prefere to watch shows that make me laugh...I don't care what the art work looks like or where it's from. and I shouldn't matter. I would like to go to japan but I'm not going to complain about it because I can't. some people that have posted here just need to learn to be more patciant(spelling?) with others, and I'm no exception.

-- Tenshi Tsubasa (moonkitty_900@hotmail.com), September 06, 2004.

well, for a fact, it's a french show, and season two is expected to hit Cartoon Network/Miguzi somewhere around Spring 2006, but it's not definite. The show was not created to be an anime, but was merely meant to be created with an unusual style promoted by the creator. just because some people may consider certain features anime does not mean it is. What is anime, anyway? Isn't it japanese animation? Well, then Code Lyoko is french animation..."l'animation."

Surtout pas, mes amies, j'ai besoin d'un bouteille l'eau. J'ai soif. Bonsoir!

okay, code lyoko is okay. In a way. or 3. but in most parts, it's completely stupid. BUT WHO CARES!? I'm completely stupid AND insane, and I don't give a damn about what i do! So, In conclusion, code lyoko is good, and so are is hyper jeremie, jeremie with too much sugar.Amd one more thing: I HATE AMERICA! I wasn't the one who wanted to live in this damned country, if i had the choice, i'd move to egypt or japan! but no-i have to stay in this corrupted country with a corrupted president and corrupted gas bills! SO, if you think that france sucks, just try and write up all the bad things about america! but you better be careful. YOU COULD GET A CRAMP FROM ALL THAT WRITING!
