Why would you want to?

Your path to Christ can be made in any Catholic church. If the Latin Rite seems to bring you closer to Christ, why would you feel "wrong" about that. There are many Latin Rite parishes, which are not seperated from the Church.

As we move closer to the Celebration of Pentecost, it is important to note that it was the spirit who caused them all to hear in their own languages. That seems to me a pretty clear mandate to worship in a language which you can understand.

How are you modernist?

How do you want to secretly follow the old order of the mass? Do you mean Tridentine?

There is certainly nothing wrong with the Latin Mass, nor is there any reason to celebrate it in secret. To the contrary, in fact: it is, after all, the "Most Beautiful Thing This Side of Heaven."

Regarding other languages: I really don't understand what is so great or advantageous about hearing the Mass in our own native language, as long as we have a translation available, so we can know what is being said. (And there are many, many places where you can locate a translation, besides the Missal.) If it were impossible for us to understand the Latin, that would be a different argument altogether.

On the other hand, hearing the Latin Mass gives you a sense of history; these are words that connect us spiritually to the early days of the Church, and allow us to feel the continuity that we are meant to feel, as well as the spirit of the Sacrifice. The Tridentine Mass is not a watered-down, Protestant-friendly compromise; it's the REAL THING!

And I am not the only one who understands and appreciates the beauty of the Latin Mass; the Pope does as well.
