To my knowledge, the first collection in book form of a selection from Poe's tales in Italian translation seems to have been the one issued in 1858 (Torino) with the title "Storie Orribili", probably establihed from the 1856-7 Baudelaire French corpus of "Histoires Extraordinaires". Nevertheless, there must have been some earlier Italian versions of three or four Poe short stories published in (not yet identified, I fear) Italian periodical Literary Magazines or Gift- Books.
