hip replacement

I am having hip replacement surgery on June 10th and I would like to know if it is okay to walk a lot before surgery. I wake up in the morning very very stiff and sore so I get out of bed and go straight outside and walk my dog. Then I walk her again around dinner time. This seems to keep me moving but just after that walk (which I force myself to do) I have to go to bed. So do you think I am making things worse and should just rest or do you think it is alright to walk? 2 times a day for about an hour?

You do want to keep those muscles in shape for the surgery it helps with the recovery time. So I would say maybe shorten the walks if the pain is too bad but you still want to keep active (or at least moving).
