They're off... but our beloved greenspun seems to be having some "issues" today! :-(

The video coverage is very nice, with some maps to look at (with funky 3-D terrain imposed). The first leg was longish split into 3 controls. The terrain was sort of low profile smallish hills, the woods look like a mixture of old, logged, open, more or less typically Swedish looking.

A lot of live "lookins" of the crowds hanging around the exchange area with no sound...

Mercifully, things looks sort of dry... no sloshing around in pig slop mud!

It looks like they're going to be broadcasting from a control out in the forest pretty soon.

Some results are getting in, but on the live feed, so until I'm sure of something, I'll hold my tongue.

It is a good time to look at the women: OK's Sanna Wallenborg had a really good run this morning to lead off IF Thor 3 with a time of 48:37 (the lead was 40:59). She was 83rd out of 381. IF Thor 2's leadoff came in 1:03:11 in 317th. That will teach 'em to snub an OKer!

Winning the women's race was Ulricehamns OK with Niggli-Luder to run their anchor leg.

A very nice video feed of the train running through a couple of common controls. Lynx 1 led the way into the control, 25 min. into the course. A lot of the big name club punching seconds afterwards in a long train.

Lynx, Nydalens Sk, Hämeenlinnan Suunnistajat, DELTA, Ikaalisten NV, Halden, Malungs, IFK Göteborg, Turun Metsänkävijät 2, Orion were the top ten at the first split spread over 16 seconds (about 15 min. into the leg). Teams like Leksands, Turun Met, IKHP, Baekkelagets and many other a minute or more back.

I should have mentioned Linkoping was 40 seconds back.

The second split is 48 minutes into the leg. Modum 1 leads by a few seconds with Ulricehamns, Halden, Linkopings, Orion, DELTA Kristiansand, Nydalens, Goteborg and Spring Cup OK following within the next 10 seconds.

We see Lynx dropped back just a bit, Leksands back 1:21, IKHP back 2:45 with Denseln, Turun Met. near them. We Baekkelaget is more than 4 minutes back by now...

There are some more significant gaps opening up here around the forewarning late in the first leg with clubs like OK Orion, Nydalens now finding themselves split back a minute or more (they had been near the lead).

Coverage of this Tio-Mila is really to be commended. Results are updated almost in real time, with some interesting video to boot.

The camera is panning around in the dimming light. Some headlamps are shining, seeming to swarm around a bit. Kristiansand's runner just came in the lead. Orion, DELTA, Ulricehamns next right together. Lynx is next 40s back. Next comes Linkoping.

The results are preliminary, but there are some conflicting results. The announcers have Kristiansand at the top, but the webpages go with this order at the exchange: Ulricehamns OK (Andreas Muller), IFK Göteborg, DELTA, Lynx, Spring Cup, Söders SOL - Tyres within 35 seconds. A bit of a gap, then 1:09 back is Halden, another gap, about 1:55 back is Modum, then a gap of 1:10 and a long line of teams: Ikaalisten NV, OK Ravinen, OK Kullingshof, Rajamäen Rykmentti, Helsingin Suunnistajat 2... Denseln's in there along with many others. Kristiansand 1 hasn't been listed there yet...

Kristiansand now confirmed in the lead at the first exchange.

Malungs maybe 5 minute back, Nydalens back farther now, Leksands, ... I don't see some teams listed that I'd expect at this point. There may be a bit of a backlog getting things updated and some places could change.
