And there was war in heaven ...

REVELATION 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, REVELATION 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. REVELATION 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The verses above makes me wonder ...

1) Was the earth/world peaceful untill the devil was cast down (whenever that happened)

2) God prosponed the fight and is that why we humans are fighting (both physical & sipritual) on earth?

3)The best way to fight and win (because I know God will WIN) is to take it to where the enemy lives? Since God dwells in Heaven, the earth is the logical place for God to fight the devil ?...

4) How will God fight the war on terror?

These questions are mine boggling since I came across the bible verse sabove this week?

I appreciate any insights into the subject John

4) How will God fight the war on terror?

Through his agents on earth, I suppose.

Dont know when this was originally posted and it may have been a long time ago and subsequently this may not be read. To take your question a bit further..if you presume that God created Creation, by His Word, de novo, more or less. A lot of the fringe science, etc, and maybe not-so-fringe have talked about aliens, etc for along time. So why in this vast creation did God choose to throw Satan to earth...why not to some other part of the universe so he could not wreak havoc here on earth. Most theologians will acknowlege that the world's ills are as a direct result of the influence of Satan and his fallen minions. A lot of talk in the last half century that there are aliens from other star systems, ie. zeta reticulum...are we unique in the universe, or are the aliens really fallen angels. Regardless of other life in the universe, apparently we are different as we have to contend with the fallout of satan's downfall. I think there is a scripture,(can't quote it on this short notice) that deals with the "curiosity" of angels in the affairs of humans. Don't know....would appreciate your comments. Thanx. Rich

I contemplate the words of Jesus very often for hidden insights that may be escaping me. It's a very rewarding practice. Jesus Christ has filled every word of his discourse and teaching in this world with wonderful revelations.

He says in the Lord's Prayer (our term) for instance, something relating to your questions.

''Our Father, who art in heaven,'' --and shortly follows, ''Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.''

What is the meaning of this phrase-- ? Is heaven indeed where God's Divine Will is done? Christ would seem to be saying just that. God has heaven (the universe as He created it) under His command, His WILL.

When man asks about alien life or the like, and hasn't troubled himself to hear the Word of God, all is speculation and darkness. But Jesus, who is God, knows the truth. He's revealed it in the simplest, clearest way. Not just for the philosopher and scientist. For every soul from the shepherd tending sheep, to the President of the greatest nation on earth! ''Thy Will be done on earth as IT IS --in heaven.''

Jesus didn't reveal everything that's happening out in space. Maybe there's nothing happening. But there probably is; just as there is much happening on the ocean's floor this minute. It's just hidden. Yes, and I find it ironic that many speculative writers are anxious and willing to suppose there are space aliens and life on other worlds. Why do some dismiss the idea of our immortal soul? They dismiss any possibility of angels. Of a personal God! When we suppose the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a faithful soul here on earth; with attendant miraculous favors; they scoff. Go figure!

1) Was the earth/world peaceful untill the devil was cast down (whenever that happened)

yes, God makes world, world is good. Man eats fruit, armies of heaven throw out satan, God places consequences on man and satan. earth becomes bad place, God saves His people. earth becomes really bad... Jesus comes, saves His people. earth becomes BAD BAD BAD place, God comes back to destroy the world and cast satan, demons, and eternal sinners into the lake of fire (i know, i left a few items of history out of that, but this is the condensed version...)

2) God prosponed the fight and is that why we humans are fighting (both physical & sipritual) on earth?

huh? no, the fight ended a long time ago. humans fight and kill because of our fallen nature. if all men were perfect, there would be no need for war.

3)The best way to fight and win (because I know God will WIN) is to take it to where the enemy lives? Since God dwells in Heaven, the earth is the logical place for God to fight the devil ?...

yes, Christ will return to earth with the host of the Lord (read: armies of heaven) and will defeat satan once and for all and cast him into the lake of fire. satan knows this, and will try (vainly) to fight back with his minions.

4) How will God fight the war on terror?

i assume this is a joke, since the legions of heaven are not likely to be afraid of terrorist attacks and whatnot. there will be rogue attacks from minions of satan, but there will not be a political agenda to bend. terrorism wins when it changes the agenda of its opponent... if the agenda can't change, then the terrorist has no possibility of winning, and it merely becomes an attack.
