I am a 43 year old man that lives near houston texas. I was wondering if it is possible for someone to be posesed by evil if he sometimes talks in a tonge that he does not understand and cant control. it only happens when I'm alone.

Maybe, but it is also possible that you have a medical ailment. I would recommend that you first see a doctor.

Bill's right. See a doctor Hugh, especially if that's the only symptom you have. A priest or exorcist would usually have you see a doctor anyway. From my understanding, it is a very methodical process to determine if physical manifestations are the work of evil spirits or not. At this point, you don't know if it a physical ailment or not.

People filled with the Holy Spirit can sometimes speak in tongues too. See a doctor and a holy and faithful priest to help you discern.

In the mean time, live a holy life, pray, and frequent the sacraments. That is always your best defense against evil.
