I'm excited to see the 2003 Toyota Prius among the options for Boston Zipcar users. Unfortunately, I and my wife have both asked if it would be possible to distinguish which of the Priuses in the fleet are 2003 models, and which are older cars. Nothing has been done about this.

I figure the best solution is to start a thread, for those interested. I'll start with the two that I know of: Prius Prima (on a private driveway off Thorndike Street in East Cambridge) is a 2003 model. Prius Punjab (in a Harvard lot at Grant Street in Cambridge) is not. Anyone know directly of any of the others?

By new vs. old Priuses, I want to know which ones are the hatchbacks and slightly newer, bigger models with the speedometer straight ahead and not at an angle, with the bigger touchscreen. I guess I meant which ones are 2004 models (the bluetooth part was not something I was aware of, must look into this).

Once again, Prima is new (i.e. 2004 Prius), Punjab is an older model. Thanks again, /J
