i have a model 19 briggs 10 hp and if you put a good gearbox and aluminumshaft and body with the right tires im sure you can reach 60mph. i have a very heavy gocart and i weigh more than the gocart and it can do 50 but stearing is hard and you have to take out the govenor and put a gear box in and have a good brake system.if i had the money i would build one from aluminum and lighten it up.i have a old 3 wheeler that im going to make another gocart out of and im going to make this one alot lighter than the one we have.

How heavey is your go cart, tom? i can tell you the top speed, gear ratio, Acceleration, power-to-weight ratio. but i need the weight and wheel diameter to calculate it.

its 3600rpm the diameter is 18 inch im not to sure about the weight i thing its about 180 to 200 pounds can you work out the best gear ratio?

yes. take the governer off and you'd get more like 5000 RPM and that'l really increase speed. you need a 10:1 gear ratio with a top speed of about 30 MPH if your engine revvs even higher without the governer you'l get even more speed. hope this helps.
