IF,

1 = 5 2 = 25 3 = 125 4 = 625 5 = ?

What is your anwswer??

I'll post the answer later today...

Answers

After examining your series, the correct answer would be 5 = 3125 (5^(x+1)=5 ; x=0)

What's the need for the variable plus one (X+1) if it always equals zero in your equation? It's easier if you just say X^5. In any case your answer is correct, 3125. I have a more difficult problem for you all to solve, Factor this equation:

[(1/24389)(x^z)^3 + (8/27)((y^z)^5)^3]

If anyone honestly cares, I will put up the answer later tonight.

Guys, think harder. It's a real math question in a university's entrance exam.

-- Andy Tsao (nohead88@yahoo.com), March 26, 2004.

If you haven't taken Calculus yet, then the info. inside the parenthesis would mean little to you. Basically, what Andy gave you was what is known as a "series". A possible solution to his problem can be illustrated with the equation I gave. In finding answers to such a problem, it is generally taken for granted that x is considered a variable, such that 5^1=5, 5^2=25, 5^3=125, etc. etc. Using this equation would allow someone to come up with infinite answers to his problem (For example the next answer in the series would look like this: 6=15,625)

I have never taken Calculus and I don't plan on it, it's not relevant to my career or quite frankly relevant to anything in the world unless you are working with physics or engineering or something of that nature. Don't make me turn this into a pointless rant about how most higher math functions are useless. I just think everyone forgot about my problem though, it's a lot more fun...

This is more like a question from the math portion of an iq test.

-- ubb (demonreaper73@hotmail.com), March 27, 2004.

OK, this is an Anime board, not a math test. If you don't mind I'm just gonna delete this thread (In a few hours, cuz I gotta go to my C Block class in a few minutes).

:( It's in the off topic section. I'm busted by SG2....Noooooooooo

The answer is 1.

Most people follow the math logic and answer 3125. But if you read the question, the equality is clearly announced: 1=5, so 5=1

Oh well, I always say I'm gonna delete stuff but forget to...Well whatever I posted a moth question myself today (not for fun but cuz I NEED HELP!!!!!!!). Check it out-It's a thread that's like "I'm SG2 and I need help!!!" or something. I posted it earlier today, and I really nedd help!!

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), May 26, 2004.

It's 1...because it says 1=5, so 5=1...equivalent stuff, yeah??
