Is there or should there still be a Global Vision of Ministry for our Denomination? : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Dear Brothers and Sisters

I am interested in what is the view of our Church membership worldwide on the Ministry of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. I sense there are those who feel we should just stay within a local level. Others prefer just within the Episcopal District. Very few seem to have the Global passion for Ministry. I would appreciateall views as I believe this is the most healthy way to assist our leaders in the future direction of the Church.

I appreciate your responses Blessings from Bermuda

No offense Nalton, but the PRESENT leaders of our Zion and those that are seeking leadership need to get their minds soley off money, then there will be room for MINISTRY. There is nothing wrong with money, and our church is in need of financial resources. But when you have leaders that use the church primarily as a vehicle for raising funds, and the funds are not necessarily being used for MINISTRY, then there is a problem. God bless you.

Excellant point Sis. Lewis. I agree that the focus cannot and shoud not be on just raising money. The central focus should be in raising souls and the utilization of money to feed them spiritually or physically if needed. If we as members of the Church speak together as one voice in the area, I believe a difference can be achieved.

Bod Bless You and Thank You

I think the view of ministry was established when Jesus instructed His apostles in the book of Acts: "You shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Today, that applies to our witness in our local area, then our influence expands to a wider area like concentric circles ever expanding. until the circles touch and overlap and all the world is covered. He does not want me in Texas to skip Mexico to minister in Europe for example. One man's opinion.

Amen Rev. Paris! That is one woman's opinion as well.
