India uses 220VAC/50Hz whereas the USA uses 120VAC/60Hz.

Any power socket adapter will have to reduce the voltage to 120VAC, otherwise you'll destroy the equipment. You may also need to have 60Hz, as the Xbox may be dependant on line frequency for timing and television output issues. Applying 50Hz to it may destroy it or cause it to do odd things. If you've already plugged the Xbox in with one of those little socket adapters, there may already be some serious damage to the unit.

Last, the television system in India is PAL, as opposed to the USA NTSC. You'll need a television capable of accepting an NTSC input signal, otherwise, all you'll get is an out-of-sync black&white picture.

If u connect your X-box to Direct current it will work in just a second and automatically it will turn off. But there is no need to worry about the X-box. Some X-box have a Decoder it does'nt spoil the machines inside at a time. So don't try often. Buy some Step down Transformer (110-127 volts (100 watts)). Tnx
