Poe cursed Delaware?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I was born and raised in New Jersey. Throughout my life I have traveled and lived briefly in many other cities and states. Two years ago I moved to Delaware for a job opportunity, and it seems the minute I unpacked my last box in my new home a dark cloud appeared over my head. Everything from car accidents, to deaths in our family and cronic illnesses have plagued my husband and I. The people I know here seem to have similar bad luck (for lack of a better term). A friend told me about a curse Poe placed on Delaware after being thrown out of a Wilmington pub, something to the effect of "May all who are born here, die here, and may all who come here never leave". Well, it seems true. Has anyone ever heard of this and if so could you please elaborate? Thanks :)

Dear. Shannon,

Some parts of the Country and world really are cursed, but wether Edger Allen Poe, has anything to do with it I'm not sure. Some areas seem to produce negative energy and so do some people. I remember reading a Sumerian, saying that went like this should a person yell out in agony and pain, but not no why they are cursed, for don't wonder, for it's the essence of the ancients ones that reside in us. My responce to these people who say a person can do anything. Well show me how manny people have walked away from aids, or cancer, or some other crippling disease. The answer to such problems are to complex for some people. And what about the story of Caine & Able, in the bible or the story of Adam in Genesis, where even God says that man is a cursed being. I can tell you this about myself I have no definitive proof, but I assume that perhaps I lived on this earth befor, and that I too am a victim of a family curse that was put on me during the 70's. Sorry if this isn't the answer that you want, but I do know certain things about Edgar Allen Poe, I don't know very much about this.
