Hi, I just had my F4 serviced at an approved dealer in the uk. They used Shell Advance 15/50 Fully Synthetic. The MV hand book states 10/60, but I have heard stories about clutch slip etc. The 15/50 does the trick on mine. Cheers

Can someone elaborate more on the "clutch slip" issue with 10/60? I use a 10/60 and have had no problems as yet. One the same note, is there any good source for AGIP oil? I hear many MV folks like to use this in their bikes. Thanks!

Ferracci sells the Agip 10w60 oil.

Thanks Curt. Was hoping there'd be another source. Ferraci only ships UPS and 2nd day on a case of oil is big $'s to Honolulu!

If you can find Motul Ester 15/50 in Hawaii use that; I've been having good luck with it.

Thanks Ben. Is that the 300V type?

Yep,

Our engine designer Andrea Goggi advises the only factory "tested" oil is Agip 4T 10-60 or Motul 300V 15-50.

This is via Peter on Yahoogroups:

"Another bit of informations: change oil every 6000 Kms. Seems banal, but any

kind of problem related to wear can be influenced by oil change.

We use AGIP Racing 4T 10-60 and it it really works well (it's not only a

commercial issue).

We also have direct experience with Motul V 300 15-50, which is also a very good

oil.

I dont'know in detail with other oils, so if You want to use something realy

factory tested, choose AGIP or Motul.

And one last thing: the informations I am sharing with You are strictly

technical, because I don't want to make other people's job. Warranties and

servicing are not under my responsibility, and in any case it is obvious that

bikes are covered by warranty if they are properly serviced by our network.
