From another thread, I picked this up, that willful divorce or desertion is a sin.

What encyclicals or CURRENT official teachings of the Magisterium address this? Is this outlined in the Catechism (all I have found there is that divorce is permitted to protect oneself from a physically or financially abusive spouse)?
