Where did alexander the great die?

Poisoned now thats something I've never heard been said throughout my reading on the subject. Mind you it could be poison which is suggested by the fever but does it take that long for poison to kill its victim? I have heard the tale of someone slipping wine into his chamber when he was ill and thats what killed him being in that state but is that what you mean by poison?

The doctors described it as a swamp disease indeed they thought Alexander would get over it for he was a tough cookie. He died in Babylon leaving the crown to 'the strongest' beside his faithful companions and his servant Bagoas whom he deeply treasured.
