Hi, I've been thinking about buying one of the new Savage police rifles for target shooting. I like the new model with the McMillan stock with a 26 inch barrel 1/10 twist in 308. Has anyone heard about or shot one of these new police models? It seems that everyone thinks the Savage rifle shoots great and most like the new trigger but everyone complains about the stock. Does this sound like a good rifle for someone new to long distance target shooting? Thanks, Bill.
