Has anyone figured out how to record from your DVD-R drive to you camera via Firewire? My camera recognizes the DV Input, and the connection work, because I have sent video to and from my camera to my editing program. I just can;t get the camera to recognize that video is comin in from my DVD-R drive...any suggestions? No, it is not copyrighted material...they are home made DVDs

Answers

Turn on the camcorder in the playback mode (after connecting with the computer). Turn on your DVD playback software and begin play. Then press record and play on the camcorder.

You can also record in the same manner if you play your DVD on a DVD player and use the s-video port for connecting to the camcorder.
