I'm about 3 months behind on car...will they try to repo?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Since I had surgery on my neck and lost my job I have fell behind on my car payments ...not being able to pay one here and there has gotten me 3 months behind...I never go 2 months without paying a payment but just can't get caught up at this time.I just received a payment (that i had made to them by money order) not sure why this was returned to me because I even overpaid!! I'm mostly worried about repossesion , my credit too of course!! Is it likely they will try to take my automobile knowing I am doing the best i can?????

Thank you, Steph

Call your account manager and let he/she know what is going on...have a plan to get caught up. The best plans have as much money as possible at the beginning of the loan...if you can come up with 1 or 2 pymts there is a possibility that they will extend a payment to the end of the loan. If you were one of my accounts at the company I work for I would have picked up your car aleady.

DON'T ARGUE IF THEY ASK YOU TO SEARCH OTHER SOURCES FOR MONEY...JUST DO IT.

RETURN CALLS WHEN YOU SAY YOU WILL. BE HONEST AND APOLOGETIC...LET THEM KNOW YOU HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF MAKING UP THESE PAYMENTS ASAP...YOU COULD JUST USE SOME HELP OR SOME TIME.

Email me if you need to.
