Basically that's the entire question. It is not restricted to any age, whether Chibi, Teen, or GT Trunks and Goten. We (being me and friends) want to know what the rest of you think about it, is it hardcore love, shonen-ai, or just really close friendship?

Yes. As I said on the other posts I strongly believe that even as Chibi's they had a deep bond as almost like brothers, but perhaps even love. They would not be gay with other guys or anything, just eachother. And even if one of them got married and had children that eventually bore Gokou or Vegeta Jr. from the last ep. of GT, I believe that they were always in love as Chibi's and 'till the end of their lives.

Yeah! And though Teen Goten and GT Goten are girl crazy, and I DEFINATELY don't think that they'd end up a couple, they would go the rest of their lives regretting it or at least knowing deep down they were in love, at least. And I am not a Yaoi fan or anything! But even if, God forbid, in their 30's or so they had drifted apart and hadn't seen eachother for years (GT DOESN"T COUNT!), they would always remember "The one that got away", so to speak. Seriously-Not to go around saying stuff like "TRUNKS AND GOTEN ARE GAY WITH EACHOTHER!" kind of stuff, but I really think that deep down they have a strong enough bond even further than being like brothers-they could very well be in love. But only Toriyama-Sensei would know for sure. I don't think he created their characters as being gay or even THOUGHT of it after the fact, but the message was sent that it is a likely possibility...Unless he says "absolutely not!", of course.

Well, I don't know. Sometimes when a person creates something they just do whatever they do and the people that appreciate it are almost free to interpret it any way they feel. Some people might see it as simple friendship, while others like me see it is something much, much closer. I see it as an impenetrable, infallible bond that brought them together and keeps them together as small children and possibly the rest of their lives. I don't know whether Toriyama even knows exactly how far they would go, being that it would be very difficult to ask them how close they are. So we are forced to just watch what we see and make our own judgements about our observations. But I still tend to ignore GT (among many reasons) because they are not such close friends anymore. Hell if I would have been Trunks I would have FOUND a way to stop that damn ship from taking off without Goten even if it involved blasting the engines and putting the fate of the universe in danger. That's just my way of seeing what is obviously a complex relationship between Trunks and Goten. That is more or less why I put this topic here so I could see what opinions other people have, but I guess this isn't something that gets people's attention. So, having said FAR too much already, I will shut my mouth and leave you to wonder about all that.

Yeah, I don't know if you really would want to marry him anyway. I don't know what your family might think, marrying someone at your age ANYWAY and then marrying someone that is 7 would just be a little weird. Yeah, and having children might be a bit of a problem, too. I can see that you would probably have to clone poor Goten in order to have any kids. YEAH! I loved that scene, I don't think it had anything to do with them being in love, but I definately thought that that as one of the cutest scenes in the entire history of the world! And I'm not exaggerating either, it was soooooo kawaii! Goten was liking Trunks' foot and Trunks was giggling in his sleep and had this super-cute blush going and it was so adorable that when I first saw it I almost DIED of chibi kawaiiness!!! Thanks for reminding me of that. But one thing, I only saw the American version of that episode and Trunks was just laughing, was he actually saying: "yes, yes, yes, baby, yes" in the original?! That would be so funny! I will have to use that in one of my stories!

first of all about GT cos it isnt written by torayoma sensei(dont tell me bad spelling!) and the people that start writing it afterwards would have differant ideas on wheather trunks and goten are in love and ideas about everything else so if...the guy that wrote Z was trying to maybe point out they were in love he couldnt continue to do so in GT cos he didnt write it so GT didnt really count for wheather they were in love or not so even though they didnt seem that way in GT then it doesnt really matter and even if it did then people can still ahve their own opinion, TV shows are about letting your imagination take you away to another world and if you want to imagine people inlove or anything then you are free to do so like if I thought they were in love and then I found out mr sensei Z writing dude said they definetly werent then it wouldnt stop me from thinking it. btw I think that they have more of a brotherly love but like a really deep brotherly love(more than just a good friendship) prolly not anything sexual but maybe.

Yeah! I'm no big fan of Yaoi, but Goten and Trunks are really meant for eachother. Think about it-Other than maybe in images of just the three generations of the Son Family, or all the Briefs Family, when do you see Trunks and Goten apart? Of corse they are! I forget which eppisode it was in, but they took a back together and were really really close (this is chibi by the way, so cute! Gotens ass!) as in touching. Also, during the Buu saga, whilst they were training to being Gotenks, they shared a bed. When they wake up, they are in boxers and lying with legs interlocked! I mean, there always showing there arses to each other! Also, they became Gotenks! Now that means they must have really shard emotions during that time, knowing how each other felt and so on. Hell yeah! Finally we are getting some good responses here, and everyone agrees that they are such a cute couple! Yeah! That is so right, whether they are just really close friends or lovers, it doesn't matter in the least. They are just inseperable and on one level or another they love each other and can't live without each other expecially when they are kids. It's all over them both; they way they talk and act and how you always see them together in the same bed of bathing together, always interacting and touching, sharing their minds and bodies when they fuse, the bond it there and it is so obvious. They make such an adorable couple any way you put it and one without the other is senseless. I thought maybe I saw something other people don't, but it is clear that all you out there see the same thing. They are made for each other, Trunks and Goten, friends and so much more forever.

Are Trunks and Goten in love? Well yes. I am a VERY big fan if this couple. ^_^ They are hardly ever apart and when they are if you bring up the other ones name they always get so excited about seeing them. There is also one sence in movie 11 when a dog licks Trunks's butt and he says 'Goten stop that tickles'. Why would Trunks think Goten would be licking his butt? Its ethier Goten has done it before or Trunks is thinking about him doing it. And this is when they are kids. Imagine when they get older! YAY!

Hey L.B Chan, you may be interested in my Dragonball IGNO then!! It's "If GT Never Occured". I just started it in like April, but it's going to follow the adventures of teenage Goten and Trunks. I really think it's gonna be great. And they don't look crappy like in GT-Trunks has the same hairstyle as he did as a Chibi (unlike the end of DBZ where they gave him Mirai no Trunks' style because they ARE different) and Goten's is like it was in the end of DBZ combined with the Gokou-esque style he has as a Chibi...If you can picture that. But I'm really excited!! It's gonna be funny, actiony, and also...Well I don't wanna give anything away but I already have one scene in mind for WAY later in the series between Goten and Trunks that will be incredibly sad and emotional and be a real developement in their characters and their love for eachother...

Here is how I look at it, I feel Trunks & Goten are best friends that are highly respectable over eachother, like brothers. I feel that they love eachother only as a brother, but if anyone reading this has a brother can relate to this completely the love of a brother, and I don't feel it goes any farther than that. Me and my best friend are like brothers. I'm basically a member of his family and him to mine since we spend so much time at eachothers houses. Parents are so used to it that my mom finds it odd if he's not over. I don't think Goten & Trunks's relationship goes any farther than that. As "brothers" they can tell secrets and stuff that they wouldn't tell to anyone else, not even there parents since they are so close, but sexual love is only an arousment by those who can't tell the obvious: Trunks and Goten love eachother as family members, as a brother would love a brother, but not as a lover would love a lover. Otherwise, Satan would have grasped their souls long ago in endless sin.

I belive love has no bounds, as to Goten and Trunks. Brotherly love isn't the word for it. Even as they got older they were attached to each other. Pay attention to the way they talk to eachother in the last part of DBZ. They touch each other, like clasping their hands together. They seem very close, and notice that Goten can't keep up a relationship with other girls? He's to attached to Trunks to know how to treat them. I belive that they have an attraction to each other and not other men. Because Trunks got pretty freaked out from that gay guy hitting on him in the tournament, and So did goten. They always seemed to stick close around each other when this happened. I belive this is true love and no other can decribe it. Trunks and Goten belong and are always going to be in love. Most of my friends belive they looklike the should be togeather as well. JUST LOOK AT THEM! THEY LOOK GOOD TOGETHER!! It's strong hard core love!!
