Swollen,warm, and painful knee

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

I had a rt. knee replacement on Sept. 29,2003. I have swelling, warmth, and pain. The pain wakes me at night. My. Dr. has taken x-rays(many views) and informed me that it was completely normal. I am starting PT twice weekly in hopes this will give me relief, and given a RX for Darvocet every four hours.

I have a feeling there is something just not quite right. This has continued for about a month. Before then it was progressing nicely. Thank You Can someone clue me in, or experienced this same problem?

I too had a total knee this past May of 2003. I have had nothing but trouble. I have swelling, pain, warmth etc. I have been diagnosed with RSD in the knee-leg., Many x rays taken. They are at a loss as of what is wrong. I had a cortisone shot today, no great relief. I did therapy twice a day every day for 6 months and now I am in it two to three times a week still, any suggestions?

Jan, I had total knee replacement surgery on 11/24/03. After that, I had a manipulation on 1/15/04. On 2/19/04, I had another manipulation with arthroscopic surgery, to remove scar tissue, and loosen 2 ligaments. I have arthrofibrosis and still cannot find a cure. I have had a second opinion with no luck, but I am seeing a Dr. Noyes in Cincinnati, OH, who is supposed to work with patients like me.
