Destino : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

Destino reminds me of Aeon Flux, except it's kind of wierd.

*Except* it's weird?

Where have you been? I thought you weren't coming back.

[I don't actually know you, don't get creeped out. I've had alot of free time so I read over half the threads in the archives.]

How'd you know? Was it the email adress? Yes, it is I. I left way back when (a year ago, was it?) because I feared I was becoming an art snob. Now I realize I can appreciate alternative art without being snobby. Lavender Gray is my pseudonym for the novel I'm writing, A Deeper Breath.

Heh. I meant that line as a joke, meaning that Destino is even wierder than Aeon. Maybe I didn't make that clear.

Yeah, it was the email address. And of course you can like art without being snobby!

Can you tell what the book's about, or is it a secret?

-- Ashly Kehl (, February 08, 2004.

It's incendiary. It's a lesbian romance and also an anarchist manifesto.

Interestingly enough, I'm not actually a lesbian myself. I just wanted to write a romance and I'm more comfortable with my ability to write female characters than male. Here's hoping I can make a convincing story.

Wow, thats really great - go hard LavenderGray!

-- Sam (, February 09, 2004.

Sweet concept, Frostbite. Make her a kung-fu fighting orphan in the future and you've got the comic I'm working on. If you want any help in terms of proofreading, I'd be happy to look for spelling errors and such.

How can I see the full movie of Destino?

-- skyknyt (, February 09, 2004.

I don't know. I just ran across the website.

Dali plus Disney - seems like a good omen.

-- Sam (, February 10, 2004.

For those of you that don't know about Dali's artwork you'll find that it's surreal expression is unmatched to this day as it was painted rather realistically and not regarded by Dali himself as surreal but rather an extension of his mind. He believed that disney was one of the twentieth century's best visionary's evn though disney's work was rather mundane by comparison. The short animated clip was initiated in 1946 but ultimately abandoned until animators from disney decided to complete Dali's and Disney's idea as they envisioned it. From what I understand the cartoon clip is being shown along with a french animated movie called the Triplets of belleville. And both have been nominated for oscars in both the feature length and animated short categories respectively.
