I have a european sony mhc zx70 and i read on dvdrhelp.com that tdk cd-rw's work for vcd's however this didnt work for me? does anybody know how to resolve this? thanks

Unfortunately, you only have 2 options. You can either try a different brand of CD-RW or buy a DVD player that supports burnable media. The DVD Player Compatiblity List suggests a few brands that some people have had some success with, including a brand of CD-R. Some Sony models don't officially support burnable media but it was possible that certain brands of CD-RW would work. I had some success using Sony CD-RW in a Sony player in the US like this, maybe that would work for you too.
