Audio CD on a 700MB capacity CD-R do not run on my VCD 2.0 player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Today I burn an Audio CD from 10 MP3 files in NERO in Audio CD format. My CD-R was Samsung 700MB/80 MIN. When I try to run it on my Sansui VCD player, it could not even recognise the CD. My VCD player can run MP3, Audio CD and VCD 2.0. Could you please help me?

Regards,

Try burning it again with other software. Sometimes CD's can just not be compatible.

It could be that your VCD player doesn't like the Samsung CD-R media. Try using another brand. Also, it could be that you didn't finalize the audio CD when you burned it. I think by default in Nero this is turned off and you have to know to turn it on. Finally, if you did your burn as a multi-session burn (that means you didn't burn every file at once, but burned some of them at one time, some of them at another time, etc.) that could be a problem for some players.

Try burning it as a data cd and that should fix your problem. I use NTI for burning MP3 cds and use the data cd setting for making MP3 discs. Normal audio cds usually use .wav files and not MP3 files.
