my dvd player plays cd-r movies in .bin but not VCD

my dvd player will play movies that i make from .bin and .cue files, but when i try to make a regular VCD it has a invalid disk error. am i doing something wrong. i use nero and burn my .mpg file as a vcd.

It might have been helpful if you had told us what model your DVD player is. Nero does not make truly compliant VCDs. They come very close to the standards, but a few things are not quite correct in some of the subdirectories on the VCD. It could be that your DVD player is demanding absolute compliance with VCD standards to be able to play the discs. You could try making your VCDs with VCDeasy (http://www.vcdeasy.org) because it will create BIN/CUE files and they will comply with VCD standards.
