what type of mount do i need to fit a tasco varmit scope 6- 24 x 42 to a bolt action savage 17 cal rifle. i tried to use the tasco pronghorn mounts that came with the gun, but won't fit.

If you still need some advice---I don't know this rifle but most Savage rifles have a long action. Get a set of Weaver offset mounts.
