What does Peter writing in Eastern Aramaic have to do with anything? Is this some proof that Peter was not in Rome evangelizing? Is it true that he wrote in such a dialect?

All I can think of is that it was the language he spoke, as well as Jesus. Wasn't Simon an Aramaic name? Also when Jesus changed his name he changed into kephas, aramaic for 'rock.'

So why is this person I'm talking to use that as a proof that Peter was not in Rome?

Actually he was in Palastine first, then later he was writing to people in palistine.

If I wrote to a freind in Germany, I may write the letter in German, this doesnt mean that here in Tennessee peopel speak German routinely.
