hello, have heard lots of mixed reports about conditions in chamonix for winter alpine routes. i would like to know what is in, what can be done at the moment, what are the dangers with all the recent snowfall and thus, where is best to go? many thanks, james

It depends from what you want to do - short/steep routes or long, commiting classics. And depends much from your level of experience.
