Well that's strange, windows media player usually plays about any avi file. Though if it is having problems i use the Divix Player. ^^

Search for koepi's xvid build, get the 1.0 version.

Get K-Lite Codec Pack 2.20 Full. It's a good all around codec pack and they update it often. It's been a long time that I stopped to search for codecs.

Its easy. If you have a real one Player, install it with all the media files. the Realone player will run MP3s, rm, ram, wavs, and especially .AVI files

Get the NEMO LITE codec pack (search google). And I reccomend searching for the freeware/shareware player of your choice @ WWW.SNAPFILES.COM. I usually use BSplayer.

This is easy. There's two really good ways to play just about anything: MPlayer & Media Player Classic. Being open-source, they're free and have no adware. Media Player Classic + K-Lite codec pack will play almost anything except RealMedia and Quicktime (It even plays Flash Shockwave files!!!) MPlayer is a command line player (The GUI sucks, don't use it) but it's the best player I've ever seen. Just extract the windows version to the C:\ and set up all related files (avi, ogm, mkv, etc.) to open with "C:\mplayer\mplayer.exe" "%1" (!with quotations!) True, there's no gui, but you can adjust brightness/contrast/ volume/fullscreen easily. 0 decrease volume 9 increase volume 1 decrease contrast 2 increase contrast 3 decrease bright. 4 increase bright. 5 & 6 shift hue f toggle fullscreen q quit there's more, but there's no point in listing them The cool part about MPlayer: All the codecs that you could possible need are available on the site for MPlayer only, just get the 'all' codec package and extract it to C:\mplayer\codecs (you'll need 7-zip to extract it, 7-zip is also open-source) Plus, you can set mplayer and media player classic to use non-rendered playback, which means you can screenshots properly.

Video Lan Player is a stand alone player that don't need codecs to play video files.

Download WOMP and burn it to cd then set your computer to boot from cd before the hard drive in the bios and put the cd in the cd tray. sit back and watch the pretty words go by, hit enter and your in linux which can then be used to play the video file with MPlayer.

Go to a search engine and use IT.
