greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

Like the title says, i'm just wondering how you can take screenshots of anime episodes playing in windows media player. I could when we had windows 98 but now that we've installed windows XP it doesn't work anymore. If that makes sence X.x

the button print screen is the default windows function for taking screenshots. If you're talking about a wmp function then I can't help you.

What spam? That wasnt spam?! Spam would be "get this amazing product of ours". Recommending software for can hardly be considered spam, or? Anyways, I found the thread useful (and funny! I am still looking for the SHIT key, but I guess its hidden somewhere next to the any button) , thanks!

How can you save pictures with windows media player? I have a windows 98 SE

-- Perverted Person (BlackRealmofHell@yahoo.com), April 06, 2004.

In Windows Media Player, go to Tools > Options > Performance > Advanced and uncheck the box that says "Use Overlays". Then use the PrintScreen button like usual :)

I know that putting down the video acceleration works, but thats only with mpeg and stuff, what if I wanted to take a screenshot while playing a DVD in FULL SCREEN? that doesnt work - please help.

Had a similiar prob some time ago - Which player does allow screenshots is that thing called BSplayer. Under Options you got 2 possibilities to take one and till now atleast one of them worked every time. For watching i would recommend the free "Calssic Media Player". It is open source as far as i know, damn stable, does not phone home! and if it does not play something it offers you a codec dl page which really works. 3 dl`s on there and if you got those you can play all the shit. It can even replace the DAMN realplayer. I tried all the players... This one even runs on slow computers. No dll stuff, no calling home, rocksolid and configurable. But i start to repeat myselve. Try it if you are unhappy with your player or if you need two or three ones for your media :p This lil one will do all besides quicktime but who needs that anyways?

"Classic Media Player" of course. Sry for that. See you.

-- Rum (amember@freenet.de), June 04, 2004.

Hey. I know its a bit late but I got another solution. If any of you have got PowerDVD then just press the "c" key and it will take a screen capture. I do not know what version I have got but I think it is pretty recent but I do not know if you can screen capture in previous versions.

Also I have found PowerDVD to be *A LOT* more stable than Windows Media Player and a whole lot less performance hungry too. Sometimes, when I wanted to swith to full screen in wmplayer it would freeze and I would have to resart!

Well with WMP 9 and 10, if you press Ctl + I and paste to any photo editing program ie photoshop, works for me, doesn't appear to work on WMP 7, but never tried it on 8....Im also using XP home but i think its more to do with the version than the OS....have fun :)

-- Cindy (soodanim@inspire.net.nz), June 24, 2004.
